Posting on social media, the woman exposed the “secret thoughts of a cleaner,” leaving many totally stunned.

So if you’ve got a cleaner who comes round to get your pad sparkling, or you’ve been debating whether to hire one, you’ll need to listen up and take notes.

First impressions count

First things first, according to Kylie, first impressions are incredibly important.

She said: “A decent cleaner will always insist on coming to meet you first…sometimes the vibe is just…off.”

Show respect

As well as this, Kylie explained that calling your cleaner by their name is much appreciated.

She added: “We don’t like being referred to as ‘the cleaner’ – we make sure we remember and use all our customer’s names, please show us some respect and use ours.”

Get out

Not only this, but giving a cleaner space to do their job is essential, so you’ll need to have a re-think if you work from home.

Kylie explained: “Cleaning around a house full of people makes our job so much harder.”

Pay up

That’s not all, as Kylie then shared a common thing people do that cleaners find highly annoying.

The cleaner snapped: “Chasing late payments eats into our time ‘off’ – it’s another admin duty we could do without, we notice and we remember.”

Be appreciative

Finally, Kylie shared the secret to ensuring your cleaner always works hard.

“We work harder for the customers who show their appreciation and value us – so send that thank you message when you come home to a lovely clean house, it means the world to use and will make us work harder in your home,” Kylie concluded.

Cleaners react

Kylie’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @thetheakers, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 53,400 views and 494 likes in just five days.

Meanwhile, many other cleaners eagerly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person said: “I left as the kids kept calling me the cleaner. My name is Roz.”

Another added: “I have one customer that always thanks me and is so happy! I have another that never thanks me but always has something negative to say – thinking about getting rid of her negative energy.”

A third commented: “I have a customer who regularly sends me a ‘thank you for today’ or ‘it was lovely coming home from holiday to a clean house.’ It’s the little things.”
