Posting on social media, Benji, who shares content online under the username ‘Bootfair Burberry,’ got candid on the things people should resell in September on Vinted.
According to Benji, who has over 750 items listed on his Vinted page, there’s a variety of autumn and winter essentials that you’ll need to re-home very soon to see sales.
First things first, he claimed that those looking to generate an income through Vinted “need” to sell coats in September.
He explained: “September is a transition month between summer clothes and winter clothes and everyone and their nan will be buying coats ready for the winter period.”
As well as this, he acknowledged two other autumnal essentials that are set to sell fast next month.
He added: “Other good things to sell are scarves and knits – these are essentials for winter.”
Not only this, but the Vinted guru also explained that shoes, as well as two types of trousers, are sure to sell well in the next four weeks.
Benji stressed: “Also, if you sell things like shoes or jeans or hiking trousers and things, you’ll see an uptake in sales in those as well.”
Explaining why such six items are sure to sell quickly on the marketplace app, Benji expressed: “It’s because we’re coming into Q4, more people buy more ready for Christmas, because this point, essentially they’re not just buying for themselves, they’re buying gifts for other people.”
As a result, the seller, who has 5,000 reviews on Vinted, shared his key advice for those struggling to sell items on the app.
“So the key is, list as much as you can but not just any old stuff, winter stuff,” he concluded.
Benji’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @bootfairburberry, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 58,200 views, 3,833 likes and 33 comments.
Do you need to pay tax on items sold on Vinted?
QUICK facts on tax from the team at Vinted…
- The only time that an item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can use your capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers trading for profit (buying goods with the purpose of selling for more than they paid for them) might need to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000, which has been in place since 2017.
