Lidl has urged customers to check its online store finder or the Lidl Plus app before setting out, to avoid being caught out.
With millions expected to flock to supermarkets for essentials and last-minute BBQ supplies, the company has also warned that Friday is likely to be the busiest shopping day of the long weekend.

Iceland will remain open as usual, with shoppers tempted in by a new line of frozen meals inspired by McDonald’s favourites.
M&S, meanwhile, is expected to open from 8.30am before closing early at 6pm, although final confirmation has yet to be given.
Morrisons will vary widely, with some branches closing at 5pm, while Sainsbury’s has confirmed most of its supermarkets will trade 8am to 8pm.
Tesco has also announced changes, with most large stores in England, Wales and the Isle of Man open from 8am to 6pm, and Scotland running slightly later until 8pm.
Tesco Express stores will continue to operate as normal.
Waitrose shoppers should also double-check their local opening hours, which vary store by store.
