Veteran firefighter Gavin, from Witney, was the final contender featured in Sunday’s episode.
Gavin achieved £4,000 in the cash builder and his head-to-head with The Chasers took an interesting turn.
Mark “The Beast” Labbett put £100,000 on the table, with 40 seconds on the quizzers’ clock.
Although the final Chaser on the board, Mark offered less time for the team than his colleagues.
He joked: “Brad, can I write a post-dated cheque if he wins please?”
While host Bradley Walsh quipped back: “It’s a funny way to hand your notice in.”
Gavin ultimately went on to win the incredible £100,000 – with just four seconds left on his clock.
Following this, Bradley joked to Mark: “Beastie, you best leave now, that’s the best thing.”
The quiz legend told Gavin: “Firstly, well played sir. Secondly, I’ll get my coat.”
The 60-year-old then departed the set as his fellow Chasers laughed in disbelief.
Writing on X, one viewer shared: “Wow Gavin amazing!! Huge congratulations.”
Another added: “Very well done. Congratulations #BeatTheChasers.”
Away from quizzing, viewers have been seeing Mark star in E4‘s Celebs Go Dating.
Viewers were left gobsmacked as Mark made a series of blunders while on a date.
This included yawning in the woman’s face throughout and even closing his eyes for several seconds.
At this point, narrator Rob Beckett then accused the quiz whizz of “dropping off”.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, the show’s sexpert Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn teased the Beast finding lasting love.
She said: “I think it’s very lovely to see a representation of an older man going through dating and becoming a little bit sweeter and softer and enjoying the romantic side of dating.”
Beat The Chasers airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
