B&M SHOPPERS have raced to get their hands on a rare Snickers bar spotted on supermarket shelves.
Customers were excited to find the peanut brownie version of the popular chocolate bar in the aisles of the bargain store.
The treat launched in the USA in 2021 and is made with freshly baked brownies and chunks of peanuts.
But it is rare to spot it in the UK, which means it’s an unusual find.
One eager chocolate fan took to social media to share their excitement at finally getting their hands on the treat.
Shoppers were also quick to chime in and share their excitement.
One Facebook user said: “we need to go x”.
While another commented: “Delicious. had these in America.”
A third added: “Bet they’re nice cold from the fridge.”
B&M does not have an online store, so if you are keen to get your hands on the product then you will have to visit a shop.
You can find your nearest B&M by visiting the website and using the store finder tool.
The Sun has asked about the price of the chocolate and will update this article when we hear more.
It’s not the first time shoppers have spotted rare Snickers flavours on the shelves of the bargain store.
In February shoppers raced to get their hands on an almond version of the popular sweet treat.
The chocolate bar was launched in the USA almost six years ago and contains almond pieces alongside peanuts, nougat, caramel and milk chocolate.
B&M is well-known for importing rare chocolate flavours, especially from Australia, that you don’t usually find in UK shops.
Earlier this week shoppers spotted a Cadbury Dairy Milk Breakaway Choc Malt Shake bar on the shelves of the supermarket.
The chocolate bar is made in Australia and uses a mix of local and imported ingredients.
It combines Cadbury’s classic Dairy Milk with a malty, chocolatey wafer centre.
How to save money at B&M
The B&M scanner app is free to download onto your smartphone from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Once you have downloaded it, simply use the camera on your phone to scan product barcodes around the store.
The app then lets you know the true price of the product, which is sometimes much lower than the price on its shelf tag.
One shopper used the app to get a long hot water bottle for 10p, down from £10.
The best time to get cut-priced products is 10am on a Wednesday, according to an ex B&M manager.
This is when staff cut the price of items to as little as 10p to get rid of excess stock and make way for new products.
Deals expert Tom Church said you should also keep an eye out for red stickers, which are added to special-buy products that have been reduced in price.
You can also sign up to Facebook pages dedicated to hunting for bargains from B&M and other discount chains.
How to save money on chocolate
We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…
Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.
Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
