Body found in burnt out car after multi-vehicle fire in the early hours near beachfront in popular UK seaside town

COPS have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in a burnt out vehicle.

The tragic find came after reports of a multiple vehicle fire in Porthcawl, South Wales, in the early hours yesterday.

Investigations are ongoing into the tragic death

Emergency services were scrambled to Mackworth Road in the popular seaside town at around 2:50am.

A cordon was still in place last night as South Wales Police continue their investigation on the beachfront.

A statement from the force said: “Emergency personnel discovered a deceased person inside one of the vehicles.

“Formal identification has yet to be carried out and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire.”
