Burnley 2 Sunderland 0: Cullen and Anthony seal crucial win for Clarets in early-season clash of newly promoted sides

BURNLEY picked up their first win back in the Premier League against fellow newcomers Sunderland.

Scott Parker’s side were battered 3-0 by Tottenham last week but bounced back in their first home game.

Josh Cullen’s strike just after half-time put the hosts ahead after a first half of few chances.

Jaiden Anthony, who set up the first, raced through in the closing stages and rounded the keeper before firing in a second to seal the three points.
