THERE was once a time when having big boobs was all the rage in Hollywood, but now plenty of stars are opting to go in reverse.
From glamour model Rhian Sugden to Charlie’s Angel actress Drew Barrymore, some of the biggest names in showbiz have spoken about getting a breast reduction.

Many people undergo breast surgery for different reasons, whether it be for health or aesthetics, so let’s look at why celebrities are choosing to go under the knife.
Rhian Sugden
The former Page 3 model downsized her boobs and has kept fans updated on her surgery recovery.
Rhian decided to get a breast reduction and uplift last month when her cup size jumped from a DD/E to a HH after giving birth to her son George.
The 38-year-old said the surgery has left her feeling “sexier than ever” now they are down to a more manageable size.
“The weight off my back, the freedom to choose clothes I actually like, the confidence boost, the energy to move without pain, it’s like I’ve been given a new lease of life,” she wrote on Instagram.
Rhian turned off comments after being previously forced to defend her decision from trolls, who attacked her for “fixing something that isn’t broken”.
Katie Price
Another former glamour model, Katie has been very open about the various cosmetic procedures she’s undergone over the years.
These have included multiple breast enhancements, but at one point, Katie decided to reverse her surgeries and get a smaller chest.
In 2019, Katie jetted to Turkey to have her boobs reduced to a D-cup after starting off with a natural B-cup.
She had her first surgery in 1998 to go up to a C-cup and didn’t stop going up periodically until she reached a F-cup, before the breast reduction last decade.
Katie has often said she would “never stop” having plastic surgery and last year changed her mind about wanting smaller breasts.
She went under the knife for her 17th boob job in Brussels, Belgium after saying wanted to have the “biggest boobs in Britain”, and got a massive 2120 CC implants in her her 16th operation.
Ariel Winter
The Modern Family actress grew up in front of us and when she reached adulthood, decided she wanted her boobs downsized and in 2015 went under the knife.
The TV star said having smaller boobs helped boost her overall confidence and helped cure her chronic back pain.
“Everyone was so focused on my cleavage, so when I got the breast reduction it helped me feel so much better about my body,” Ariel told Refinery29 in 2017.
“I always felt like crap about myself. It’s gotten a little better, but it’s still definitely hard. But I’ve learned to not care about that as much. I’m comfortable in a bathing suit, scars and all.”
Speaking of the pain her big breasts caused, Ariel said: “I really couldn’t stand up straight for a long period of time.
“It started to hurt so bad that I couldn’t take the pain. My neck was hurting so bad and I actually had some problems with my spine.”
Imogen Thomas
The former Big Brother star was in good spirits this week and updated fans on Thursday after undergoing breast reduction surgery.
Imogen revealed she was getting a boob job and travelled to Istanbul for her procedure.
“I cannot wait, my boobs right now are really big for me,” she told fans last month.
“I’ve lost quite a bit of weight and I just can’t have this anymore.”
Imogen then updated fans once she was given the all clear from her operation and promised she would show off the results in the coming days.
Charlotte Crosby
The Geordie Shore legend decided to have her breast implants removed after experiencing searing pains in her chest.
Charlotte took the implants out in 2019 and returned to her natural B-cup size and said she finally happy with her body.
“I was experiencing some really bad shooting pains and dull aches in my left breast,” Charlotte told The Sun at the time.
“I went to the doctor and they said it was the beginning of something which means your body is rejecting the implant so it’s not something that happens instantly, it happens gradually over time.”
She continued: “He felt around the area and said there was a lot of inflammation in there. The breast itself was feeling really hot.
Doctors had to act quickly before the breast implants caused any further damage, because in some cases it can causes scar tissues to grow around the implant which will leave them deformed.
Charlotte admitted she completely regretted going under the knife to get the implants in the first place.
Michelle Visage
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage also had breast implants removed after they started to negatively impact her health.
The Celebrity Big Brother contestant filmed having her breast implants removed on camera for the documentary, Explant.
She said she suffered from “breast implant illness,” which has a range of symptoms including joint and muscle pain, chronic fatigue, and memory and concentration problems.
“There are plenty of surgeons, both male and female that say that [breast implant illness] doesn’t exist and that we’re just hysterical. We need to go home, get laid, smoke some weed, have a glass of champagne, and take a Prozac or Xanax,” Visage told Business Insider in 2021.
She wanted to spread awareness about the dangers of breast implants, and that’s what drove to make a film about her experiences with her own implants.
Drew Barrymore
The Hollywood legend says she has not had any plastic surgery, except to undergo a breast reduction when she was just 17 years old.
She spoke about the operation five years later in 1998.
“I really love my body and the way it is right now,” Drew told the New York Daily News.
“There’s something very awkward about women and their breasts because men look at them so much.”
Drew added: “When they’re huge, you become very self-conscious.
“Your back hurts. You find that whatever you wear, you look heavy in. It’s uncomfortable.”
