Chelsea outcast shares glimpse into brutal reality of being in the ‘bomb squad’ with dressing room picture

CHELSEA defender Axel Disasi has given fans a glimpse into the harsh realities of life in the Blues’ ‘bomb squad.’

The French defender shared an image of the group’s dreary dressing room to his Instagram account.

The room appears grey and small compared to the high tech dressing rooms of Premier League football teams.

The wooden benches and hooks around the room are akin to those you would find at the facilities of a local gym or secondary school.

Name plates are visible for Disasi, as well as fellow outcasts Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu and Ben Chilwell.

Academy graduates Armando Broja and Alfie Gilchrist can be seen in the corners of the room in the image.

The snap was clearly taken a few weeks ago, as Ugochukwu and Broja have since secured twin moves to newly-promoted Burnley.

Disasi and Gilchrist spent last season on loan with Aston Villa and Sheffield United respectively, but have not managed to secure moves away yet this window.

Chelsea had declared their interest in moving those names on as part of a ‘bomb squad’ of unwanted stars including Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Renato Veiga and David Datro Fofana,

Veiga joined Spanish outfit Villarreal this week for a club record £26 million.

However, deals for the other members have been harder to come by.

Jackson has been extensively linked with a move away and is still generating interest from Newcastle and Serie A.

Chelsea are hoping to generate some more money and free space from sales in the next two weeks to open up the possibility for some late signings.

The Blues are still interested in RB Leipzig‘s Xavi Simons, and they could reignite their pursuit of Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho if they can make room in the squad.

Garnacho has been pushing hard for the move in recent weeks, sparking controversy among fans of the Red Devils.

If Chelsea do need a squad reshuffle before the end of the window, they did not show it during Friday’s clash with West Ham, in which they cruised to a massive 5-1 victory away from home.
