Despite the glamour of tying the knot at Manchester Cathedral and partying the night away later, their big day had its share of “c**k-ups,” according to the actor.
Jack opened up on the various gaffes during the latest episode of his podcast On The Sofa that he co-hosts with former Corrie star Colson Smith and current actor Ben Price.
The two actors had big roles on the day, Colson served as one of Jack’s groomsmen and Ben did a reading, but the pair were also in charge of getting everyone seated ahead of the ceremony.
Even though Colson had some of his own dramas before getting to the Cathedral, it was actually Hanni’s family that threatened to throw the day into chaos.
Jack revealed they went to the wrong venue for the wedding ceremony and turned up 15 minutes late.
“It was all Hanni’s Irish family, they all went to the wrong church,” Jack explained.
“They went to the Catholic church at the back of Deansgate, they just assumed it was there.”
When the family got to the Catholic church, which is about a 12 minute walk away from Manchester Cathedral, they realised their error because nobody was at the church.
“They had to obviously look at their text messages, at their invites to see where it was,” Jack continued.
Colson added: “But then it was a big gap [in the pews] where they were supposed to be sitting.
The lads then recounted the funny moment where the family rushed into the Cathedral, in the hopes they weren’t too late, but it coincided when Hanni should have been arriving to the chruch.
“We were all sat, literally waiting for Hanni and the doors open, and Ben having to stand up to try and get them sat,” Colson explained.
They eventually got the brood sat down in time for Hanni to walk up the aisle and the lovebirds to get married in the romantic ceremony.
Colson also shared his own panicked story from the day, which Jack described as one of the big “f**k ups” of the wedding.
The three lads had not tried on their suits again before the wedding, and Colson realised far too late that his shirt did not fit him around his neck or chest.
He then had to make a mad dash to the shops to buy a new shirt but was slowed down by a road closure due to Manchester Day.
Colson also learned too late that he did not have the correct colored socks on.
“You [Colson] came into the room with your shirt on, didn’t you, no shoes on, what did Jack say to you?” Ben said on the podcast, to which Colson replied: “Jack said, ‘Ooh, they’re black socks!’” referring to Colson’s light blue pair.
Colson argued that he “didn’t know” about needing to wear black socks with his suit, saying he had tried to pick a nice colour for his friend’s big day.
“I went in my sock drawer that morning and I went, ‘Do I go green? Do I go blue?’ I wanted to go for a nice sock so I went for a nice light blue sock,” Colson explained.
