Donald Trump’s sweeping global tariffs are declared ILLEGAL by Appeals Court but levies are allowed to stay in place

DONALD Trump’s sweeping global tariffs have been declared illegal by the Appeals Court.

A federal appeals court ruled the US President had no legal right to impose sweeping tariffs and wasn’t legally allowed to declare national emergencies.

The US President held up a chart of the tariffs he was implementing

The levies, however, are allowed to remain, the court ruled.

It added that Trump’s tariffs can remain in place until October 14 to allow appeals to the supreme court.

It comes just months after Trump had his global tariffs reinstated by a federal appeals court following a temporary block.

A US federal court in New York blocked most of the import taxes from going into effect, ruling that the president had overstepped his authority.
