Dry your wet washing & save space with Aldi’s £4 autumn gadget – you won’t need to use a dehumidifier or tumble dryer

ALDI slashes price of sell-out winter gadget to just £4.49 and it’s perfect for drying clothes without a tumble dryer or dehumidifier

The budget supermarket is rolling out its Dryer for Heating or Balcony across UK stores from Thursday, 28 August – and it’s expected to fly off the shelves.

Aldi’s fold-out dryer slots over radiators, compact yet spacious, and wipes clean easily

Made from PP and steel tube, the fold-out dryer is designed to perch neatly over a radiator or sit on a balcony, giving Brits a low-cost way to tackle their laundry without shelling out on pricey appliances.

Unfolded with extension it measures 52 x 52 x 16cm, or 52 x 33.5 x 16cm without – and it can be wiped clean with ease.

Shoppers say it’s a simple solution for homes tight on space.

Cheaper than a tumble dryer

Although tumble dryers are a fabulous way to dry your washing, some models can cost as much as £1.76 per use – and this can quickly rack up over time.

And whilst everyone still raves about dehumidifiers, they can be extremely pricey too.

There are many ways to dry laundry during the colder months, such as hanging damp garments around the house.

But not only does this take ages, experts warn it can increase moisture indoors – leading to mould, damp and even a musty smell on your clothes.

Luckily, Aldi’s bargain dryer offers a purse-friendly fix.

Shoppers online have already praised it, with one writing: “This is what I’m after.”

Another added: “Need one of these!” while a third said: “This is the one that I want!”

Savvy fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have also been swapping tips for cheap laundry hacks.

One user in the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It said: “I use a clothes airer with a dehumidifier, it dries faster than my tumble dryer.”

Another wrote: “I swear by my dehumidifier. No damp problems anymore and our clothes are dry overnight.”

But not everyone wants to splash out hundreds on extra gadgets.

That’s where heated airers have become game changers.

Winter Essential

Over in the Cleaning tips and tricks Facebook group with 1.8 million members, Lucie Anne asked: “How do people get washing dry without a tumble dryer in the winter?! We have so much washing but getting it dry is such a problem!”

The overwhelming response was the same high-street hero – the Dry:Soon 3-Tier Heated Airer, which costs less than 9p an hour to run.

Many hailed it a “game changer” and claimed it makes drying laundry “much easier”.

How to save money at Aldi

Unlike other major grocers, Aldi does not have a rewards or point card system but that does not mean you cannot save on your shop.

Every week the store releases a list of special buys , which are unique bargain products you find online at Aldi and in store.

When’s the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible.

The store releases a fresh range of deals every Thursday and Sunday, so be sure to check regularly to see what’s new.

Meanwhile, the store also regularly sells fruit and vegetables at highly discounted prices, as part of its ‘super six’ deal.

It also does weekly saving offers on typically pricey items such as meat and fish.
