EASYJET’S Newcastle base will open earlier than planned, with three new aircraft and flights to more destinations.
From March 22, 2026, travellers will be able to fly via 11 new routes from the airport.

New destinations include Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey, Greek Islands Rhodes and Corfu, Faro in Portugal as well as Malta, Prague, the Spanish city of Reus.
There will also be an exclusive connecting route between Newcastle and Nice, allowing more Brits to travel to the south of France from the northeast airport.
In addition, there will be direct connections available to North Africa, including to the popular Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh and Enfidha in Tunisia.
Flights from Newcastle to Antalya and Enfidha will start March 22, then flights to Malaga will start on March 23, Nice and Dalaman on will commence on March 24, then Alicante will follow on March 26 and Malta on March 28.
Flights to Reus will then start on March 31 and flights to Corfu will start from April 3.
Then as summer comes, there will be a new service between Newcastle and Prague launching on August 2, and from August 3 travellers will be able to head to Sharm el Sheikh twice a week.

Leon McQuaid, director of aviation development at Newcastle Airport, said: “It’s fantastic that easyJet will open its base at Newcastle Airport ahead of schedule, with flights to 11 new destinations taking off earlier than planned, including a brand-new direct service to Nice.
“This also builds on the popular destinations the airline already serves, including Alicante, Amsterdam, Geneva, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Bristol and Belfast. We look forward to celebrating with easyJet when the new routes take off and to announcing even more exciting new destinations soon.”
In total, the airline will now offer 19 routes from Newcastle Airport, with existing destinations including Paris, Alicante, Palma and Majorca.
Flights are already available to book via easyJet’s website from £36.99.
Holidays can already be booked on the website including a seven-night break at the 3* Ukino Terrace in Faro on a Self Catering basis for £402 per person when flying from April 7, 2026.
EasyJet also has flights to a Hawaii-like island in Europe from London Luton Airport.
Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Maderia, will get new flights twice each week throughout the summer season, on Mondays and Fridays.
The Atlantic Ocean island, which is off of the north west coast of Africa, is known for its beautiful volcanic landscape and is home to Laurisilva forest – a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers amazing hiking opportunities.
