Jessie recently told fans that she is set to have second operation next month.

But ahead of the procedure, Jessie returned to the stage on Saturday performing at BBC Radio 2 In The Park in Chelmsford, Essex.

When she stepped out on stage she received a huge applause from the crowd.

She appeared emotional as she told festival-goers: “Some of you may know, some of you may not know, but I had breast cancer surgery 11 weeks ago today.

“And the last show I did, I had no idea what was gonna happen, and I’m still very much in the recovery process, but I’m definitely not ready for Babins.

“I mean, I am, but my doctors are like “calm down, girl”. Do you know what I mean, you can take the girl out of Essex, put her back in to Essex.

“But I’m just so grateful to be here, you have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing along after all these years.

“It truly feels like I’m a little kid. Still doing what I love.”

She then surprised fans by bringing out her two-year-old son Sky to the stage to join her.

Jessie told the audience: “And another special thing that’s happening today is that my son is seeing me sing on stage for the first time.”

The songstress belted out her brand new track titled Living My Best Life – saying it has a special meaning.

She said: “Some of you may know it, some of you may not know it, but what this song’s about, I was diagnosed literally two weeks before this song was released, and everyone said, “let’s stop, let’s just put everything on hold” and I said, “that’s not what life’s about”.’

She went on to say: “Life is about standing in the storm but holding up your umbrella and just keep moving forward.

“And music, I don’t know about you guys, but for me, music is a healer.

“Music is the thing that keeps me wanting to wake up in the morning and just makes me excited about life.

“And I’m grateful that I can make music that can give other people something that they might need on a hard day or a good day.

“So this song is called Living My Best Life, and that is what I’m doing every single damn day.

“Cause we never know when our last day will be, so soak this up, hug the people you love hard.”

Just days ago, Jessie said her upcoming procedure would be “nothing too serious” but “has to be done by the end of the year”.

In a new update, Jessie has now revealed that she’s cancelled her US tour and has rearranged her UK one as her surgery falls in October – which is in the middle of her European tour dates.

She told fans on social media: “I’m so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad.

“But I need to be better, I need to be healed and this is the right decision to make.”

The singer revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in June.

Jessie said that she was clinging onto hope after being told by doctors they had caught the cancer “early.”

Within weeks she underwent a mastectomy and spoke candidly about the physical and emotional toll of her treatment.

In a heartbreaking post, Jessie shared how her son comforted her before surgery, saying: “Mummy’s gonna be OK.”

Jessie later discovered her cancer had not spread but she has been open about the ongoing challenges of recovery.

The singer, real name Jessie Cornish, spoke in detail for the first time about how she learned she was suffering from the disease.

She opened up to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, as she said she was initially told following a check up and ultrasound that “it looked healthy” and wasn’t something doctors were worried about.

However, Jessie’s symptoms – including a “really achy” arm and pins and needles in her hand every morning – continued, and led to her having a biopsy the day after her 37th birthday.

She was then told by doctors that she had “high grade cancer cells”.

In an update to her social media followers earlier this month, she revealed she was admitted to hospital again six weeks after the surgery.

She shared photos from hospital nad said: “How I spent the last 24 hours.

“Six weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned.”

She explained: “I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD. [But] they ran a lot tests, which ended up showing I have an infection (still trying to figure out what) and a little fluid on my lungs.

“Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night (I hate being in hospital) and will continue the investigation as an outpatient.”
