ENGLAND stormed to the biggest one-day international victory of all time by an incredible 342 runs.
Harry Brook’s team piled up 414-5 in 50 overs against South Africa in Southampton and then routed the Proteas for just 72 all out.

England’s win beat the previous cricket best of 317 runs by India over Sri Lanka in 2023.
This was the 4,906th one-day international dating back to January 1971.
And England were not put off despite the match being stopped due to the testing of the national emergency alarm.
Jacob Bethell scored his first century in pro cricket and Joe Root notched his 58th international century – 19 in one-dayers and 39 in Tests.
Then Player of the Match Jofra Archer blitzed the Proteas’ top-order with an opening spell of 7-3-10-4.
Archer said: “I said South Africa will either get the runs or be bowled out trying to get them.
“Fortunately, they were bowled out.
“In the first ten overs of their innings, it was overcast, the ball was hard and the pitch was doing a bit.

“It was one of the times when you don’t want to put the ball down.
“I didn’t really look at the scoreboard. I was focused on bowling – it was very exciting.
“Jacob is an amazing talent, it was just a matter of time before he scored his first century.
“He can bowl a bit, field and could have 40 centuries in all formats by the time he retires.”
Bethell added: “It was the perfect performance.
“The only thing that wasn’t perfect was not taking wickets because there was an injury!
“It shows what we can do.”
