First look at Center Parcs’ new treetop attraction opening next week

CENTER PARCS has unveiled its latest attraction which allows guests to fly through the forest.

Located at Elveden Forest in Suffolk, Center Parcs’ new Treetop Glider experience allows guests to glide above the forest canopy, passing views of its lake and the surrounding countryside.

Riders will have to take a leap of faith from a treehouse nestled in the woods, to then glide along a 180-metre track.

Along the route there will be twists and turns, as well as views of the Suffolk countryside and Elveden’s lake.

Nicky Richardson, village director at Center Parcs Elveden Forest said: “We’re so excited to be opening the Treetop Glider right here in Suffolk.

“Elveden Forest has long been a destination for adventure and family fun, and this new experience gives guests the chance to see our woodland from a completely new perspective while enjoying high-in-the-sky, high-speed thrills.”

To go on the ride, guests must be between 1.1metres and 1.87metres tall and each rider will get two laps of the course, per booking.

The experience opens on September 2 and bookings are already open for guests.

Set within the Breckland, an area of national importance, there are a number of other treetop adventures at Elveden Forest, including Aerial Adventure, where guests are secured to a harness and get to swing through the trees.

The aerial rope course gets gradually higher, before it finishes with a zip wire experience.

Or you could head to the Aerial Tree Trekking course, which features different obstacles, mini zip wires and pathways, all suspended two metres above the ground.

Little ones don’t need to be left out either, as they can head to the Mini Trek course, with different obstacles to swing and balance on, one metre above the ground.

Elveden Forest is also updating its Winter Wonderland breaks for 2025, where guests get to experience festive activities on stays between November 7 and January 2, 2026, at no extra cost.

In addition to the usual attractions, such as Santa’s Woodland Village, the Enchanted Light Garden and the Snow Zone, this year Elveden Forest will have a new Christmas Shop will immersive displays and bespoke decorations.

Santa’s Woodland Workshop will also have a new design and there will be a woodland pathway with different cabins full of animals helping the site get ready for Christmas.

Of course, Elveden Forest is also home to one of Center Parcs’ iconic Subtropical Swimming Paradise attractions, heated to 29.5C with a number of pools, flumes, a ‘Tropical Cyclone’ slide and water rapids.

The site recently announced that it will refurbish Venture Cove in The Subtropical Swimming Paradise, with the site expecting to reopen the attraction on December 19.

The Aqua Sana Spa onsite also underwent refurbishment in 2023, with a new £6.5million Forest Spa opening with steam rooms, saunas, a heated outdoor pool, an ice cave and a number of relaxation rooms.

For four nights from September 29, you could stay in a one bedroom waterfront studio apartment at Elveden Forest, for £359.

Or opt for a three bedroom Woodland Lodge for four nights from September 22, for £499.

Earlier this month, Center Parcs also revealed its brand new premium lodge collection, which will launch in October.

Across the Sherwood Forest and Whinfell Forest sites, 200 lodges will be upgraded, with new features including interactive games and outdoor seating areas.

Called the Woodland Premium Lodges and Grand Forest Lodges, inside they will be decked out with woodland wallpaper, comfy sofas and chairs and a fully-equipped kitchen.

There is even a ‘snuggle pod’ with an interactive games screen and mood lighting that changes colour.

Outside, guests will get to enjoy the fresh air no matter the weather thanks to a heated pergola with squishy beanbags.

Back in April, Center Parcs also shared its potential opening date for a seventh UK park.

Plus, in June, Center Parcs launched its Adventure Nets attraction at one of its sites.
