MULTIPACKS of Wispas have been cut from nine bars to seven — but cost the same.
The new packs are still priced around £3, meaning the cost of each finger has risen by almost 10p.
Crunchie multipacks are also hit.
The move follows reductions this year in packs of Fudge, Freddo, Dairy Milk Little Bars, Brunch and Curly Wurly bars.
One choc fan said: “Shrinkflation is getting worse.”
Another wrote about Wispas: “I won’t buy again on principle. It was a good-value pack with nine bars.”
Cadbury owner Mondelez International said any changes to its product sizes was “a last resort” for the business.
It added: “We are experiencing significantly higher costs across our supply chain, with ingredients such as cocoa and dairy costing far more than they have done previously.
“Other costs like energy and transport remain high.
“This means that our products continue to be much more expensive to make and while we have absorbed these costs where possible, we still face considerable challenges.”
Susannah Streeter, of investment firm Hargreaves Lansdown, said: “It’s been a torrid time for Mondelez, with shares falling sharply after it forecast that worries about the economy would hit sales in the US.
“It’s going to focus more on selling better-value offerings, but investors seem pessimistic.”
