In the clip, the two could be seen out in their garden at 11:30pm at night after noticing a weird sound.

They stepped out and Lucy revealed it was coming from next door.

She said: “Everyone on the road is in bed, but next door’s outside tap is running full pressure onto the floor.”

The pair, who had just bought their first ever property, were cautious about waking their neighbours up to the news.

“No one’s got their lights on. Do we knock on and wake them up and say your outside taps running?” Lucy asked.

As they peered over the fence to check, ladders could be seen next to them but they didn’t hop over to turn it off.

The couple walked outside the front of their house still debating on whether to address it.

Finally, the two made their way back home without alerting their neighbours.

Lucy then filmed the two of them in bed questioning how much the running tap would cost them.

Her partner assumed it would cost them £300, but after a quick Google, found it would most likely be around £26.

The pair then laughed before saying they should go to bed.

The clip went viral with over 2 million views on her TikTok account @lucysharp_ and people were quick to slam the pair for laughing at their neighbours blunder and not helping out.

One person wrote: “sorry, I know it’s late but I think your outside taps on, didn’t want you to get a massive water bill” literally all you needed to do

Another commented: “I would be fuming if I saw this and you didn’t knock.”

“who needs enemies when you have neighbours like you guys,” penned a third.

The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble

One study by Compare the Market revealed the top reason British neighbour’s argue

  1. Broken fences – top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix it
  2. Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Bin wars – outdoor bin etiquette continues to ignite the most furious debates between neighbours
  5. Nosy Neighbours – some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Laughing at how much it will be, and then saying let’s go to bed…? I’d be so mad.”

“So Gen Z… just go and tell them,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Omg!!! What’s wrong with your generation?! Knock ! Regardless of what time it is! Knock and tell them. Neighbours or not!”

In a later video, Lucy addressed the negative comments saying she probably should have knocked but ‘wimped out’ as they were new to the neighbourhood.
