FAMILIES have been evacuated from their homes after a “suspicious object” was found.
Local police were scrambled to the residential street in South Belfast following the shocking discovery this evening.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed “a number of homes” had been cleared in the Bentham Drive area.
The road has since been cordoned off from the public as investigations continue.
In a statement, the force said: “Police are currently in attendance in the Bentham Drive area of south Belfast following the discovery of a suspicious object.
“Cordons are in place and a number of nearby properties have been evacuated.
“An update will be issued in due course.”
