Huge British band set to release ‘lost tapes’ of collaborations with massive stars including Ed Sheeran and Raye

THEY’VE had chart-topping hits with Feel The Love, Waiting All Night and These Days over more than a decade.

And now Rudimental have revealed they have hundreds of unheard collaborations with other major artists hidden in a vault.

And they are talking about releasing a record called The Lost Tapes, including the best.

With tunes featuring massive names in music such as Ed Sheeran and Raye set to come out among the secret stash, I am very excited by it.

The drum and bass group, featuring Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden and Leon “Locksmith” Rolle, sat down with Bizarre after their performance at Reading Festival at the weekend, following the release on Friday of their fifth album, Rudim3ntal.

Revealing the project for the first time, Piers said: “There’s a Raye track there that could have easily made this album.

“I would actually like to revisit that.

“There’s so many tracks there.

“There’s Ed Sheeran tracks from eight years ago that are still in the vault.

“So it’s not that hard to go in the studio and be like, ‘All right, this is going to be album six’.

“It’s just trying to make sure that everything is in sync.”

Kesi mused: “Maybe we could call the next album The Lost Tapes.

“And just put out all the tunes that should have come out that never came out.”

But Locksmith joked: “The only thing is, you’re going to have an 18-year-old wondering what a tape is.”

Rudim3ntal is their first new album in four years.

But in that time, they’ve barely left the studio.

Asked how many songs they reckon they wrote for it, Piers admitted: “About 3,000.

“The thing is, this album really was finished a year to two years ago.

“And then what happens is, you get in the studio and we wrote Nights Like These (featuring Rag ’N’ Bone Man) in December.

“And we’re like, ‘OK, let’s finish that, then we’ll put the album out’.

“We’ve already definitely half-made the next album. Maybe 70 per cent of the next album.”

The band have done a string of hit chart collaborations with everyone from Anne-Marie and Emeli Sande to James Arthur and Jess Glynne.

And having been champions for a generation of British stars including Ella Henderson and Charlotte Plank, they are now launching their own record label to help new artists.

Kesi explained: “As Rudimental, we’ve always been a platform for artists. And in 2026, we’re starting a new record label.

“We’ll be supporting new vocalists, new producers and dance acts. I think that’s a big part of our focus.

“I think that’s reignited the fire for us and we’re super-excited about the next chapter.”

RIHANNA looked ready to pop as she waved to fans in Los Angeles on Monday.

The Work singer is expected to give birth to her third child in the next few weeks but was still out and about running errands despite the fact her clothes now barely fit her.

She has been taking it fairly easy recently, having had to postpone a handful of scheduled comeback shows after finding out she was pregnant again.

However, the plan is for her to return to work next year, with performances here in the UK

TRAVIS ON TRACK

SCOTTISH rockers Travis are back in the studio.

I can reveal the Sing hitmakers have started work on their 11th album, as a swift follow-up to 2024’s LA Times.

Bassist Dougie Payne said: “We’re down in London anyway so we’re going to nip into the studio, just to begin some little bits and pieces and then we’re gonna start a run of festivals.

“We’re going to go into the studio and bang out a few covers just to loosen up.

“When we get in the studio we tend to make a decent noise together and something happens.

“We’ve got no concrete plans but we’ll see what happens.”

Last weekend the indie band got together to play Blur star Alex James’s Big Feastival in the Cotswolds.

The group are planning a change of direction from their last record, as frontman Fran Healy moving to the US has shaken things up.

Dougie explained: “We used to get in the studio and Fran would have a song and it would be like, ‘OK, how does this one go?’

“And then we’d work out our parts and that would happen in rehearsals.

“But now, with Fran living in LA, it’s throwing back and forth little bits of songs and little scraps of ideas and then we’ll go into the studio and make it happen.”

He added: “We’re very much a song-based band.

“Melody comes first, songs come first and we work it up into what it’s meant to be.”

It’s worked for them so far, so I’m hoping for more tunes soon.

THE FRESH CRINGE OF HOT AIR

NOSTALGIA is at its peak right now thanks to Oasis, and Will Smith did his best to cut the mustard when he kicked off his nationwide UK tour in Scarborough.

Opening with Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It, there were dancers, smoke machines, giant flames and a slick band tying everything together.

He doesn’t miss a beat, but the show does feel a little like elaborate karaoke.

Fans around me sang with gusto through the hits that made his career, such as Miami and Yo Home To Bel-Air, and there was a great reaction to his newer track, Pretty Girls.

But this concert didn’t reach the dizzy heights you’d hope.

Leaving the gig, no one could accuse Will of not being able to throw a party, nor of not getting into the local spirit, as he declared with gusto: “I’m the Fresh Prince of Whitby.”

But unfortunately for Will, some people did accuse him of “faking” footage of fans and claimed he used AI generated videos and images afterwards on social media.

They called out the alleged fakery after a clip he posted on YouTube had some weird visual errors, including hands that appear to have six fingers and a sign that reads “FR6SH CRINCE.”

Either someone in the crowd couldn’t spell or AI has done Will dirty.

When we asked his reps if AI had been used, we got a “no comment” in response.

We’ll take that as a yes, then.

CARDI B: HE’S NOT THE SAME

CARDI B has admitted there was “no love there” by the end of her marriage to rapper Offset because he is “no longer the same person she married”.

The Wap singer wed the Migos star in 2017 but she filed for divorce last summer while pregnant with their third child.

Now Cardi, who will release her second album Am I The Drama? next month, told Apple Music’s New Music Daily show with Zane Lowe: “Going through a divorce is very, very tough because you marry somebody and the person that you are divorcing is not that person that you married at all.

“It’s like you really ask yourself, ‘Who the f*** did I marry?

“Who did I marry?’ There is no love. It got to the point that it’s like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I feel like I really hate you.’

“I never wanted that.”

LANA HAS LOTS ON HER MIND

LANA DEL REY has revealed she has one of the least starry hobbies ever – sitting in car parks.

Speaking about what she likes to do with her tour guide husband Jeremy Dufrene, who she wed last year, the Summertime Sadness singer told W mag: “Jeremy and I have what we call ‘parking-lot time.’

“We spend so much time in parking lots, just reading or talking.

“Sometimes, in life, you think you’re the only one in the world who loves a particular thing, like sitting in an empty Macy’s or Home Depot parking lot.

“You might be really weird to some people, but then you find another soul who feels the same way.”

She wasn’t the only famous face there, as Olympian Usain Bolt was seen rapping alongside a DJ and, fresh from opening up for Coldplay on their tour, Grammy-nominated Ayra Starr gave a surprise four-song set on Rampage’s stage.

Leigh-Anne was able to let her hair down after a busy weekend which saw her perform at Reading and Leeds Festivals as well as promoting new single Burning Up.
