While she got a good deal on her house she was now left too scared to leave it[/caption]

The woman, who claims to have worked as a criminal barrister, decided to move to Newham, East London.

She said that people had said it would be an up-and-coming area, and put down half a million pounds to secure a house there before prices rise.

But she was now left dealing with an area riddled with crime and too scared to even walk to the local shop.

In the clip, she said: “I think we should start normalising telling people, young people, not to buy in an up-and-coming neighbourhood because my god my god.

“I spent half a million pound buying this house.”

She added that she got into even more debt making it liveable as there was no gas connection.

But now, she says she’s paid a fortune just to be surrounded by criminals.

She added: “Ever since I’ve lived here I have just had 24-7 crime, I’ve been subjected to it, witnessing it, watching it.”

The barrister gave an update to viewers who were quick to ask exactly what sort of crime she was on about.

She said that her street, and the surrounding area had a problem with drug addiction.

Now, she was scared to walk across the street to the local shop as she had been harassed by them a few too many times.

She also claimed that one drug addict living on her road even stole from her food delivery, taking orange juice and chicken from the deliveryman.

As well as this, she’s seen many neighbours get aggressive and even had people taking drugs on her doorstep.

“I have a lot of sympathy for that situation, but it doesn’t mean that I also haven’t felt I haven’t felt unsafe and have had to make changes to my day-to-day living and my lifestyle and my patterns as a result of this,” she added.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACTS

The clip was shared on her TikTok account @autisticbarrister and went viral with over 297k views and 17k likes.

Plenty of people took to the comments, advising the barrister to get out of London.

One person wrote: “Where in Newham did you buy? Making it sound like Gotham loool.”

Another commented: “Nowhere is London is up and coming. It’s down and going.”

“Newham is the armpit of London,” penned a third.
