Here’s what you need to know about The Gailes Hotel[/caption]

Here’s everything you need to know about the hotel, from how much rooms cost to what to eat at the restaurant.

Where is the hotel?

Found at the heart of Ayrshire, the luxurious hotel & spa is isolated by nature, the penthouse overlooking the Isle of Arran.

A 17 minute drive from Ardrossan South Beach Rail station, the hotel is almost completely rural.

It’s perched on the secluded West coast of Scotland, providing an escape from urban reality.

It was even named the Boutique Spa Hotel of the Year earlier this year.

What is the hotel like?

Just 40 minutes from Glasgow in the town of Irvine, this tranquil hotel is an ideal dog-friendly escape in the countryside.

The main draw is its onsite Si! spa.

It comes with an outdoor jacuzzi, thermal suite with sauna, steam room and hot pools.

There are also treatment rooms offering soothing massages.

What are the rooms like?

They are kitted out with grey-scale furnishings that give them a sleek and modern feel. Ours had a lovely view of the pond and fountain, all set against a lush golf course.

The hotel offers a variety of rooms ranging from Suites to standard rooms.

Double rooms cost from £125 per night on a B&B basis. Book here.

What is there to eat and drink there?

The hotel’s Coast restaurant is worth a visit.

Decor is nautical themed, with naval maps and fishing rope adorning the ceilings.

Although the seafood options were surprisingly slim. Go for the haggis pakora if you like meat – definitely a treat.

My main of salmon with chorizo, potato, spinach and paprika was delicious, but the dessert was the real star of the show.

A generous helping of raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake served with Arran ice cream.

The Terrace At Si! is also a nice spot, just a ten-minute cab ride into Irvine and run by the same group.

If you pop in, make sure you try an espresso martini made by the delightful Gio.

What else is there to do at the hotel?

There are lots of coastal trails nearby for walking the pooch.

You can also reach the Isle of Arran (home to a distillery, castles and more scenic walks) in just under two hours by taking the ferry.

The Gailes has something for everyone.

It’s home to some of the world’s best links courses, with features such as toptracer and golfing activities for all ages nearby.

There’s also Junior golf training as well as PGA coaching.

Is the hotel family friendly?

Yes the hotel is family friendly. There are rooms available with additional space and bed options, making a comfortable stay possible for all the family.

Additionally, a flatscreen TV is provided in every family room.

Select dog friendly rooms are also available, so that the whole family can enjoy your the stay.

There are dedicated spaces on the hotel grounds just for pets.

Is there access for guests with disabilities?
