I tested three self-setting concealers that hide my dark circles – I can’t fault budget option

I HAVE extremely oily skin, except for around my eyes which is dry and easily irritated.

Finding a concealer to hide my dark circles and a setting powder to keep it in place is virtually impossible so this week I’ve tried a new breed of so-called self-setting concealers . . .

L’Oréal Paris infallible Skin Ink Foundceale promises 48 hours of wear[/caption]

L’Oréal Paris infallible Skin Ink Foundcealer, £14.99 for 15ml: Without a doubt, this is one of the best high street concealers I’ve ever tried and it doubles as a foundation so you get two products for the price of one.

It promises 48 hours of wear, more than you should ever need, but at least you can be confident it will last through a hot flush/sweaty commute without slipping off.

The oversized doe-foot applicator makes covering large areas and precise application easy.

However, it is the quickest setting of the three, so that’s something to bear in mind, and works best if you apply in small sections then blend out as you go. But, other than that, I can’t fault it.

Haus Labs By Lady Gaga Triclone Concealer is packed with over 20 skincare ingredients[/caption]

Haus Labs By Lady Gaga Triclone Concealer, £27 for 7ml: This concealer alone proves anything pop star and actress Lady Gaga puts her mind to, she will succeed at.

It was the first concealer to introduce me to self-setting technology and, not only does it set in place without the need for powder while still looking like skin, it is packed with over 20 skincare ingredients.

These include fermented arnica, niacinamide, squalane and a hyaluronic acid to improve the health of skin long term as well as instantly.

It is not as pigmented as some concealers I have tried in the past, but it layers well so the coverage can be built up if needed.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer makes my skin look like skin, but 100 times better[/caption]

Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer, £35.50 for 5.8ml: It is very rare I ever believe shelling out for the most expensive product is worth it but, this time, you really do get what you pay for.

This is hands down the best concealer I have ever used.

I love the hourglass shape of the applicator, which delivers the perfect amount of product to cover my full face, plus the tip is so fine you can easily dot a minute amount on individual blemishes without concealing large areas.

It makes my skin look like skin, but 100 times better. Plus it doesn’t ever look cakey or dry, settle into fine lines or oxidise into a darker colour. And it stays put all day.
