I tried Charlotte Tilbury’s new Airbrush Flawless foundation – it’s a must-try for oily skin types

CHARLOTTE Tilbury is one of the best-loved names in the beauty world, so when it comes to talk of a new launch — I’m listening.

The cult brand released THREE new products last week, and the one that’s really had make-up fans talking is the new-and-improved Airbrush Flawless foundation.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Foundation has had a formula upgrade

It’s fair to say that the original is already pretty iconic and has been a bestseller since its initial release in 2019.

The full-coverage foundation has a formula upgrade, and I put it to the test.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin is my ride-or-die foundation, and the lightweight formula sits perfectly on my dry skin.

For that reason, I’ve always shied away from full coverage makeup products, but the new Airbrush Foundation promises a ‘light as air’ feel.

I put the new foundation to the test

It has 44 shades to choose from (including some new additions), so the Charlotte Tilbury website recommends getting a new shade match for the perfect colour.

I’ve always loved that the brand matches beauty fans to their undertone (with cool, neutral and warm options), to ensure the product balances the complexion out as much as possible.

Testing it out for the first time, I noticed that the formula feels like a hybrid between Charlotte Tilbury’s light and heavier foundations (although still offering the same great coverage as the full coverage versions).

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation: Quickfire Q&A

How much is it? The new Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation costs £39 and comes in 44 shades.

Who’s it best for? Oily skin types and those looking for full coverage.

What we loved: It gives an airbrushed finish that stays put all day.

What we didn’t love: The full coverage may be too much for those after the barely-there makeup look.

The foundation gives the skin an airbrushed finish

It glides across the skin with a matte finish that’s noticeable right away.

My skin really did look airbrushed after applying, covering all of my pores and redness.

I wouldn’t say it’s ‘light as air’ as promised, particularly compared to Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation, which really does feel weightless.

That being said, a full coverage foundation is unlikely to feel totally weightless on my dry skin, and it’s definitely lighter than other foundations I’ve tried before.

The matte finish is definitely a game-changer for oily skin types, and you could even skip the powder when wearing this.

I followed up with the brand’s other new release, the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Setting Spray.

The brand also launched a matte version of its popular setting spray

It’s a product that will have oily skin types hooked, a few spritzes set my make-up in place for the entire day.

You can read my thoughts on the three new Charlotte Tilbury products in my full review.

Matte foundations can be a nightmare on my dry skin (you can read my roundup of the best foundations for dry skin).

While I did notice some product sinking into my lines throughout the day, I was seriously impressed with the results.

My base makeup still looked practically flawless after a full day of wear, so I’d say the Airbrush Foundation and Matte Flawless Setting Spray are a great pairing.

The verdict: is Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation worth it?

If you have oily skin, this foundation is absolutely for you.

It left my skin looking airbrushed, thoroughly concealing my pores and redness.

Despite the formula being slightly heavier than I would usually go for, my make-up didn’t ever look cakey, with only some slight sinking into my lines.

The Airbrush Flawless Foundation is a great choice for those looking for full coverage and a matte finish that will stay in place all day.
