FAIRYTALE castles are the most iconic part at every Disney resort, whether that be Sleeping Beauty’s or Cinderella’s.
Now, it’s been announced that the one in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is getting a new look.

The castle turned pink for the 50th anniversary celebrations[/caption]
The huge Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom stands at 56 metres tall and has been a crowd pleaser for 50 years.
It’s one of the first things people see when entering Main Street.
Coming away from the traditional pink and purple, Imagineers at Disney recently revealed plans to redecorate the castle in blue, cream and gold.
While most know the castle for being pink at the beginning of Disney movies, the colours actually reflect the classic and original castle in Cinderella.
Visitors to the park prior to 2021 will recall the castle being in these colours.
But in that year, it was painted pink and blue for the 50th anniversary celebration, and has remained that colour ever since.
Lots of visitors praised the pink, one wrote on a Reddit forum : “I love the new castle it pops so much more. I was not a fan when it was originally done but I’ve grown to love it.”
However some have confessed they’ll be happy to see the castle back to its original colours as one pointed out the pink makes it “look too much like Sleeping Beauty’s castle”.
It’s not just a case of giving the castle a lick of paint though, as it has to be hard-wearing due to the hot weather and intense Florida sunshine.
The hints of gold will be used strategically around the spires, to catch the reflections of sunlight.
The World of Frozen is opening at Disneyland Paris in 2026[/caption]
Close to home, Disneyland Paris has announced when the World of Frozen will open – and it’s less than a year away.
The new land will open its doors to visitors in spring 2026 as part of the Disney Adventure World project.
Visitors will be immersed in the world of Elsa, Ana, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven and will be able to walk amongst the characters in Arendelle.
It will be built around a huge lake that will host live water shows and there will even be a new boat ride called Frozen Ever After.
In the distance will be the snowcapped North Mountain along with Elsa’s very own ice castle.
There will also be two shows and of course a restaurant serving Frozen-themed snacks.
Here’s more about the upgrades to Disneyland Paris including the new Lion King attraction.
