THE bank holiday weekend is here, which for many of us means squeezing in our final end-of-summer plans before autumn hits.
And although the high street is in full A/W mode, with cosy knitwear, chunky boots and jackets galore, we’ve been blessed with some gorgeous sunshine recently.
The days may still be warm, but the evenings are definitely getting cooler, and that’s where the wardrobe dilemmas kick in.
Whether your plans involve a garden party with friends, a family barbecue or if you’re simply using the extra day to check off a few chores at home, we’ve got you covered.
Our fashion experts reveal what they’ll be wearing this weekend to help spark inspiration, plus we couldn’t resist some pieces from the new Topshop collection.
Think light layers that you can throw on as the sun dips, and versatile staples that’ll see their way into your autumn wardrobes too.

I’ve got a big, family garden party this weekend – think scones, Pimms and rain dodging!
This dress from Sister Jane isn’t very ‘me’, but I can appreciate a good thing when I see it, and that made me fall in love with it.
The scoop back, the lighter-than-air fabric, the quintessential summery print – it’s the perfect dress for such an occasion.
Should the weather turn, I’ll be taking this H&M blouse with me to wear open as a jacket.
The pink hue pairs tonally with the dress, and it’s one of those tops you can wear with pretty much anything – even as a cover-up.
I’ve paired the dress with woven flats for a bit of texture, and as I’ll only be needing a phone and lippy, an easy phone bag it is – and my Reiss one is my favourite.
And I’m thrilled to be re-living the glory days of Freedom at Topshop jewellery via the brand’s new website.
Even though this gold cuff isn’t technically Freedom, I will be calling it so for the nostalgia!

We’ve been so lucky with the weather this summer and I’m crossing my fingers for another warm bank holiday weekend since I’ve got a family barbecue planned.
I’m loving the jorts trend that has been everywhere – and this pair from H&M is the perfect length for me.
They don’t overwhelm my frame, which can be a concern when you’re petite.
I’m also completely obsessed with this cardigan from Next – it’s such a brilliant alternative to the House of Sunny versions, but at a much friendlier price point.
I’l be keeping it in my bag for when the evening gets cooler.
To finish the look, I’ve styled it with brown platform sandals, classic brown aviator sunglasses and this gorgeous studded bag from the new Topshop relaunch collection.

For the last bank holiday until Christmas (sob!) the weather is looking cautiously optimistic.
I’m heading out for a day with the girls, so have opted for an easy, throw-on midi-dress.
Brown is set to be big once again this autumn, so I thought I’d hop on board the trend a little early with this dress from Mango.
With Topshop’s exciting relaunch, I’ve had my eye on a few pieces – and I love these cow-print heels, as they make a big statement and mean I can leave the rest of my outfit fairly plain.
I’ve completed my look with some gold earrings, sunglasses and a brown suede bag that is perfect as we head into autumn.
