AN IRAQI was allowed to stay in the UK despite being wanted by Germany for suspected drug- dealing — and having asylum claims rejected by two countries.

Ardi Hussein Saleh Rahim, 30, arrived in a lorry in November 2019.

At the time he was wanted by a court in Regensburg for five drug-supply offences.

Border Force took Rahim to a detention centre and he was housed in hotels before being transferred to Manchester at a cost of thousands.

In 2023 jobless Rahim’s asylum claim was rejected.

But he was granted an appeal and leave to remain while his case is processed — meaning he has now lived here for almost six years.

He gets an allowance — thought to be over £4,300 a year — to care for his wife.

He told us: “I’ve done nothing. I’ve life here.”

He was finally arrested at his Oldham home in November, and is awaiting extradition.

Rahim claims he faces death in Iraq. But Germany and Italy kicked him out.

Migration Watch UK said: “This is more evidence of how broken our system is.”
