A JUDGE who ruled migrants can remain in The Bell Hotel ran a socialist think-tank and was reportedly a member of the Labour Party for at least 28 years.
Lord Justice Bean, who delivered the judgment, and two other Court of Appeal judges ruled that an injunction barring the premises in Epping, Essex, from housing asylum seekers should be overturned.

From 1989 to 1990, he was chairman of the socialist Fabian Society which works very closely with Labour.
Its membership is predominantly made up of Labour members.
He was one of the founding members of the Matrix Chambers, alongside Cherie Blair — wife of the former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair — and Lord Hermer, the current Attorney General.
He also served as a treasurer for the Society of Labour Lawyers, which describes itself as a “think-tank and affiliated socialist society which provides legal and policy advice to the Labour Party”.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage slammed the Court of Appeal’s ruling and accused Keir Starmer of putting “immigrants above British people”.
Mr Farage posted on X: “The government has used ECHR against the people of Epping. Illegal migrants have more rights than the British people under Starmer.”
Communities have turned out in droves to protest outside of hotels across the country.
Many turn up draped in St George’s flags.
Hundreds of the England flags have cropped up in towns and cities, being hung on lampposts and fences as it becomes a symbol of protest against illegal immigrants.
Many have angrily torn them down, arguing that the flags are inflaming tensions.
It came after Home Secretary Yvette Cooper made a last-ditch bid to join the battle.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch claimed Sir Keir “puts the rights of illegal immigrants above the rights of British people who just want to feel safe in their towns and communities”.
She urged Conservative councillors seeking similar injunctions to “KEEP GOING!” despite the ruling.
