KATIE Price’s best friend Kerry Katona has slammed Alex Reid for being desperate for attention.
The former Atomic Kitten star admitted she was confused why Alex has been speaking against Katie, who she argued is a “fantastic mum”.

Katie’s ex-husband recently announced that he is “spearheading a campaign” to expose the truth about their relationship and previous allegations that Katie has made against her other exes.
“This isn’t about gossip, but about evidence. It’s not about rumour, it’s about reality,” he said in an Instagram video.
He released a bombshell video appearing to show the model counting piles of cash – while bankrupt.
But Kerry hit back at the former MMA fighter earlier this month.
Commenting underneath a Sun Instagram post about the video, she penned in a since-deleted comment: “Oh f*** off!!!!”
She also wrote: “Doing anything to stay relevant.”
Katie, 47, was declared bankrupt twice in 2019 and then again last year over a huge unpaid tax bill.
And it seems that Kerry isn’t backing down.
In her recent column for OK! magazine she told readers that she and Katie were gearing up to go on tour.
She added: “There’s a lot of media attention on Katie and it’s not my place to say whether she’ll talk about it, but she’s a fantastic mum and loves her kids endlessly – and vice versa.
“I’m not too sure why people like Alex Reid are speaking out, I think it’s all very attention grabbing.“
The damning video, which is believed to have been filmed in 2020, captures Katie sitting with her daughter Princess as she counts a huge amount of cash.
She boasts: “There’s loads here … I’m just sorting it out”.
Katie can then be heard quizzing Princess about what her dad Peter says about her paying school fees.
Holding up her middle finger, she tells Princess: “Your dad can sit on that”
Laughing, she continues: “Does he go on about it a lot? Well it’s tough because I’m in bankruptcy to next May now.”
She is also heard talking about a London flat in the clip.
A spokesperson for Katie said: “This is a video that was shared with Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee’s investigations into the same.
“The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie’s divorce from Peter Andre.
“Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate.”
Katie and Alex married in Las Vegas in February 2010, but the pair split the following year.
Alongside the footage, Alex told his followers: “For years, I’ve watched as stories — many false, exaggerated, or deliberately twisted — have been pushed out into the public.
“Fake news isn’t just a headline, it destroys lives, reputations, and families.
“This has been years in the making. Countless hours of collaboration, gathering evidence, and finding the strength to finally stand up and say: enough is enough.
“I have stayed quiet long enough. Now is the time to speak.
“This isn’t about gossip, this isn’t about drama — this is about the truth.
“The announcement I’m about to make will challenge the false narratives and shine a light where it has been needed for far too long.
“The time for speculation is over. The truth is about to come out.”
It comes after Katie’s ex Peter Andre accused her of making “baseless accusations” against him, and claimed their children Princess and Junior have been in his care since 2018 ‘for their safety.’
Peter finally snapped after Katie moaned about being frozen out of her daughter Princess‘s blossoming career – and claimed that their kids live with both Pete and her.
Revealing his own plans to take legal action, Peter said: “Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations that I have yet to address. Those will be dealt with in the coming months.”

Katie Price’s missing millions
At the peak of her career Katie had an estimated fortune of £45m, thanks to her lucrative modelling career, book deals, and TV appearances.
The cash-strapped mum-of-five was first declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts of £3.2 million.
In a podcast interview earlier this year, she blamed her exes who include Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler and lawyers for her money woes.
She insisted that funding her exes’ lavish lifestyles with cars, watches, luxury holidays and homes left her finances in tatters.
She added: “I went through a breakdown, this is how mine started – lawyers and exes, that is my bankruptcy thing.
“And obviously a bit of HMRC.
“When I had my breakdown, if anyone has been depressed… I don’t know if you’ve ever had depression.
“It starts with depression and you just want to sleep all day and not talk to anyone, the phone would ring and you wouldn’t answer it.’
In March, Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.
The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.
Katie was due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court but failed to turn up – holidaying in Cyprus with her new man JJ Slater instead.
Her Mucky Mansion was a bomb site for years after it was burgled, flooded and swamped by an overflowing septic tank.
She finally moved out at the end of May and is renting a four-bed mansion in Sussex.
