A NEW festive flavour of KitKat has landed in UK supermarkets and fans are already saying it’s the perfect Christmas treat.
Excited shoppers have been flooding Instagram after food account @Treatsinstore revealed the launch.

The limited-edition KitKat Gingerbread has been spotted in Sainsbury’s, with an eight-pack priced at just £2.20.
That works out at around 28p per bar, making it a sweet seasonal indulgence that won’t break the bank.
One shopper wrote: “Oh I want”, while another added: “That’s gonna be amazing.”
A third said: “Must try this flavour.”
Food reviewer @another_snack_reviewer also weighed in, describing the new bars as having a spiced taste leaning more towards speculoos than traditional gingerbread.
She added: “If you’re looking for that distinct warmth that gingerbread provides then you may be disappointed, however I thought these were quite nice.
“These had the usual crisp wafer and milk chocolate coating of regular KitKats which worked well with this flavour. Worth giving a try.”
Nestlé, which makes KitKat, is also encouraging fans to get creative in the kitchen with the new flavour.
The brand has shared a recipe for a Gingerbread Hot Chocolate, made with KitKat fingers, mixed spice, cocoa powder and hot milk.
It’s designed to be the ultimate winter warmer, whether sipped by the fire at home or packed into a thermos for a frosty walk.
KitKat said: “Our Gingerbread hot chocolate is made with snappy KitKat fingers, ground mixed spice, cocoa powder and hot milk – and makes the ideal winter warmer.
“Sip it by the fire or head out for a winter walk with your family or friends. It couldn’t be easier or quicker to whip up.”
The festive drink can be whipped up in minutes and served with a dusting of cocoa on top.
Nestlé also suggests making it extra special by adding a splash of coffee liqueur for an adults-only twist, or serving it in small espresso cups at Christmas parties.
With shoppers already raving about the bars online, the new flavour is expected to be a sell-out in the run-up to Christmas.
The Gingerbread KitKat is one of several new treats Nestlé has graced the chocolate market with.
Earlier this summer the brand dropped three new chocolate bars, which included a twist on a new a real classic.
The three new bars – KitKat Chunky Funky, KitKat Chunky Salted Caramel and KitKat Blue Riband Vanilla hit shelves in June.
It comes after shoppers went wild after spotting an all-new Nestlé chocolate bar based on an iconic cereal on supermarket shelves.
It’s the first time this rare treat has been spotted in a major UK supermarket.
How to save money on chocolate
We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…
Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.
Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
