Lakeland shoppers can pick up a budget-friendly buy that refreshes wooden surfaces in throughout your garden.

So whether your patio has developed a layer of dirt over the summer or your fence is looking a little worse for wear, a quick spritz can help.

And you can now pick this product up for cheaper than ever.

A litre of the Lakeland Wooden Decking and Fence Cleaner is currently available for just £2.99, reduced from £7.99.

According to manufacturers, this spray works on most patio stains, whether they’ve gone slimy after a season of rain or are covered in foliage, dirt, and algae.

This concentrated solution is to “have them cleared up and ready for another year of outdoor festivities” in no time.

It can also be used to remove mildew from fences and sheds, saving you a trip around the garden with a paintbrush to cover up any green spots.

And while you may be tempted to ignore your outdoor chores until spring, now is the best time to take action.

After all, a build-up of algae and mould on your deck can make it “as slippery as an ice rink after a bit of rain”.

According to the product description, a “quick whip round everywhere” with this product restore your wooden surfaces to “their former glory”.

So there will be no repainting jobs required this autumn.

How to use

Simply rinse your deck, fence or shed with clean water before use.

Then dilute the formula, adding 250ml to every five litres of water.

And for heavier stains, manufacturers recommend adding a litre to every 5 litres of water.

You can apply the mixture either using a pressure washer on a low setting, working from the bottom up, or stiff brush.

How to repair broken patio slabs

THE paving specialists at Simply Paving told Fabulous how you can repair broken patio slabs, without the faff.

The experts advised: “If you have a loose paving slab, then it’s unlikely it can be lifted straight by hand. Instead, you will probably need a hammer and chisel to prise the paver free of your patio.

“To remove loose paving slabs without damaging your flagstones, carefully chip away at the mortar around the paving slab with the plugging chisel and rubber mallet until the slab comes completely loose.

“Then, slide the spade into the gap left by the mortar and prise the paver free of the patio.

“As you lift it up, place a short piece of timber underneath the spade to act as a lever, making it easier for you while protecting the slab underneath.

“When the paver starts to give, place the cylindrical wood underneath it and roll the slab out of the patio.”

Leave to work for five to 10 minutes, but make sure not to let it dry.

Finally, rinse off using a high pressure jet and then leave the surface to dry.

For best results, apply a water sealer once completely dried to protect the wood.

For heavier stains, you may need to repeat the process.
