THE lucrative world of cosmetic fillers and facial injectables is facing a surprising backlash.
The UK aesthetics industry was estimated to be worth approximately £3.2 billion in 2024, with experts projecting it could reach a whopping £3.6 billion by the end of this year.

But now, filler reversals are shaking up this billion-pound industry sparking a major beauty U-turn that’s sweeping through the ranks of UK celebs and influencers.
Celebrities including Molly-Mae, Faye Winter and Chloe Ferry have already chosen to dissolve their filler – setting out to embrace a more natural look.
And now Love Island’s Mal Nicol has joined the ranks after returning to her natural lips.
The 27-year-old, who appeared on the tenth series of the ITV2 dating show in 2023, has insisted she will “never get lip filler again” after her reversal.
In a TikTok video, the brunette beauty – from Edinburgh – visibly cringed as she shared pictures from her filler-fuelled days.
She admitted that she was “in denial clearly” over her puffier look, and even claimed her pumped up lips made her look like she had a moustache.
She said: “I actually cannot stress how awful I used to look when I had lip filler.
“I look ridiculous. I look like I constantly had a moustache. Like what the f***, this is disgusting.
“Filler moves, my face looks so swollen.”
Showing off her natural look, she added: “The best thing I ever did was dissolve the filler.”
And social media users were in full agreement, with her clip racking up 28,000 views.

Meanwhile, a second chimed in: “10000 milion times better without.”
Mal entered the Love Island villa on day 16 and chose to go on dates with Mitchel Taylor and Sammy Root – who went on to win the show with Jess Harding.
On day 18 she chose to couple up with Sammy but was dumped from the show shortly afterwards when she received the fewest votes for favourite girl.
The former Love Island bombshell told fans last year that she’d been approached for a new series of MAFS.
She took to Instagram to share a message apparently from one of the E4 show’s casting agents – but is now happily in a relationship with her investment banker man.
The pair recently bought their first home together and added to their family with a Dachshund called Peroni.
