LOVE Island alum Malin Sara Andersson is leaving the UK after going through a lot of ‘stress, suffering and trauma.’
Malin took to Instagram this morning to announce her decision to leave the country in a candid reel, as well as what’s led her to take this leap.

Her daughter Xaya also featured in the video[/caption]
Talking to the camera while her daughter Xaya is brushing her hair with a pink brush, Malin begins sharing her story from their accommodation in Madeira, Portugal.
“Quick update. Me and Xaya are in Madeira. My best friend lives here and we’re going to be here for a week before we go on to our next adventure in Barcelona.”
Malin continues: “Imagine you leave a life that you’ve known for your entire life. My mum moved us all [her family] from Sweden to the UK when I was three years old, so Bedfordshire has been where I’ve been for basically my entire life.
“Take away work and things like that, and your safety net becomes the town that you’re in, the people, the same faces, those same things.
“But when I thought about it, there’s nothing here for me. I came with a family, and I’m leaving without anyone. I don’t speak to any of my siblings, my parents are dead, I have no family. It’s just me and Zaya.”
Malin then goes on to describe how she’s “had enough” of staying in the UK when it feels empty to her and how she wishes to become happier after living “29 years of sadness” including facing family deaths, car crashes, and hair loss.
“I decided I’d had enough. I felt like my soul had been taken out of me, like I was functioning like a zombie just doing the same things.
“When you’ve know stress, suffering and trauma your whole entire life you go through the healing phase, go inwards, and then you need change. So that’s what I’ve done.
“I have no ties in England left anymore at all – no house, car, anything – that’s it. I need adventure, travel, fun and joy. Even though I’ve just got here it’s like my nervous system has creeped up on me since it’s only known how to be the other way.”
Malin summarised her journey in the reel’s caption, expressing: “I didn’t realise until the day I decided to leave that the area we are born into is designed to keep us there… forever.
“Until we realise the more we expand and break free into the world, our external reality will reward our nervous system by expanding the abundance that’s available to us.”
Followers of the TV personality were quick to flood the reel’s comments section with messages of support.
“This is so true! The exhaustion and recalibration phase! I’ve experienced this when I made a major move, too. Love your new adventure, and wishing you all the best,” commenter one user.
“Thanks for being real. Thanks for sharing. Sending love,” and “I hope you find your happy,” shared others.
Malin featured on the second series of the highly popular ITV programme Love Island back in 2016, lasting twenty five days in the villa.
Her mother passed away at the end of 2017 aged 65 after battling stomach cancer.
Around two years later, Malin’s baby daughter Consy passed away as well from complications of being born prematurely.
