He stunned fans by forfeiting his Xi’an Grand Prix qualifier after a mere two frames.
Brecel was 2-0 down to Sunny Akani and had only scored seven points the time he opted to call it quits.
Snooker bigwigs are understood to be reviewing the incident, which handed Akani an automatic 5-0 win.
But judging from his latest social media activity, Brecel couldn’t care less about any potential punishment coming his way.
On Wednesday, he posted a series of loved-up snaps with his other half, Shawney Demuyter, embracing one another while on holiday.
His accompanying caption for the photo dump read: “Five months with the sweetest soul.”
Shawney commented on the post along with a series of love-heart emojis: “Forever to go.”
Brecel and his girlfriend will no doubt have the holiday blues when they return from their luxury vacation.

A massive fine for the premature ending of his clash with Akani could be waiting for the Belgian when he gets back.
Brecel explained his bizarre decision to end the match early on Instagram, saying: “I started the match with a fighting mentality.
“But soon realised that there was no feeling in that piece of wood at all.
“The feeling in my arm has been incredibly good the last few weeks.
“Nothing can be done about it at all, but we keep on going.”
