The popular site on Seamoor Road will shut its doors for the last time in September.

A Costa Coffee Spokesperson said: “We can confirm that our Costa Coffee store on Seamoor Road, Westbourne, which is owned and operated by one of our franchise partners, will be closing for trade next month. The majority of our talented team members have been redeployed.

“The local community can continue to enjoy their favourite handcrafted Costa coffee at our nearest store on Commercial Road in Bournemouth.”

The news will come as a blow to locals who praised the store’s “great customer service” and “delicious” sweet treats.

It is the latest in a series of at least 20 closures made by the popular coffee chain.

Just this week, the chain also said it will close its Andover Bus Station kiosk later this year.

Its Marlborough High Street branch also shut suddenly on July 17 .

Meanwhile another branch in Whitstable, Kent, shut on June 29, while another in Lyme Regis closed on April 24.

And Costa is not the only store that’s scaling back its estate.

River Island will close up to 33 stores in January as part of a restructuring plan to help write off the fashion brand’s debts.

Locations in major UK cities including Edinburgh, Leeds, Oxford, Brighton and Perth are all expected to close.

The axed sites will remain open until January 2026, as River Island desperately tries to make the most of peak trading times.

Poundland is also waiting for high court approval for a dramatic restructuring plan which includes the closure of 68 stores.

The chain was bought by the Gordon Brothers last month as part of a deal that included major restructuring and an £80million cash injection.

MORE COSTA NEWS

As we head into the bank holiday weekend, many customers will be wondering about Costa’s opening hours.

The majority of stores operate under reduced hours on bank holidays, which are typically 8am to 5pm.

However, opening times can vary depending on the location, so you may need to confirm ahead.

You can use Costa’s store locater tool to ensure you don’t miss out — costa.co.uk/locations.
