Cunha, 26, trudged down the tunnel at Old Trafford with fans worried he could be sidelined for a significant period of time.
Manager Ruben Amorim admitted that he was “concerned” for the Brazilian when speaking after the victory.
However, Cunha could be back on the pitch sooner than first thought after his recent post on social media.
The forward shared a picture of himself on an exercise bike with a four-word message.
He wrote: “The time is flying”.
The post seems to suggest he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from the injury.
Fans have spotted the post and are thrilled with his potential return coming sooner rather than later.
One posted: “Quick recovery.”

A third commented: “Good to see.”
A fourth said: “Loading…”
Another added: “He really wanna play that derby so bad.”
United’s next game after the international break is the Manchester derby at the Etihad on September 14.
Amorim could make a change between the sticks and throw in deadline day arrival of Senne Lammens.
The Belgian was signed from Royal Antwerp for £18million on a five-year contract.
His signing will pave the way for flop Andre Onana to head out of Old Trafford in January.
The former Inter Milan stopper is expected to head out on loan in the winter transfer window to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
United have agreed a deal with the Super Lig side but the Cameroonian is yet to green light the move.
If Onana does make the switch, then he would link up with former Premier League stars Stefan Savic and Paul Onuachu.
Supporters are excited about seeing Lammens in goal after footage emerged of him scoring a late goal for former side Club Brugge.
Altay Bayindir could also be on his way out of United as SunSport exclusively revealed that the club would listen to offers for the goalkeeper.
