It became known for its eye-popping sex scenes and nudity that left fans gasping.

Now it has been confirmed that two acting heavyweights will be joining the programme for its second outing.

Mission Impossible actress Hayley Atwell will be joining the show in a guest role.

The star appeared in 2023’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning before following it up with this year’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

Hayley is also loved for her time as Agent Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

She played the role in Captain America in 2011 before being handed her own spin-off TV series as the character in 2016.

Plus, Rupert Everett will be making his Rivals debut in the second series.

He is well loved for his roles in Napoleon and My Policeman.

Hayley will be playing Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black’s, played by Alex Hassell, and the mother of his two children, Marcus and Tabitha.

Whilst, Rupert will take on the role of her husband Malise Gordon, who just so happens to be Campbell Black’s former show-jumping coach and mentor.

The upcoming second series of Rivals will see more episodes than before with an extended twelve episode run.

A teaser promised even more drama, reading: “As power struggles escalate and rivalries deepen, ambition drives every move, pushing loyalties to the edge.”

Lee Mason, the Executive Director of Scripted Originals at Disney+, said: “Rivals is a landmark series for Disney+, quickly becoming one of our most beloved British UK Orginal dramas.

“I’m delighted to welcome Hayley and Rupert to our extraordinary family of actors.

“They are a perfect match for the world of Rutshire, so lovingly created by Dame Jilly and the team at Happy Prince.”
