MORRISONS is introducing a new loyalty card perk for anyone who spends over £10.
The offer is available at 405 locations, giving shoppers across the country a chance to cash in.
The supermarket has rolled out the new “£10 rule”, allowing More Card members to claim a complimentary refillable hot drink in participating cafés.
The perk runs from today, Monday September 1 until Sunday September 28, and includes everything from frothy cappuccinos and lattes to calming herbal teas and even hot chocolate.
Here’s how it works
Anyone spending £10 or more in a single shop can scan their More Card and will automatically receive a voucher.
That voucher can then be redeemed in a Morrisons Café for a free refillable hot drink of choice, within seven days of the shop.
Vouchers are issued via the app or printed at the till, but app users will need to activate the deal before heading into the café.
There are some rules attached.
The offer doesn’t apply to takeaways, Brew Bars, Morrisons Daily convenience stores, or online orders, and is limited to one free drink per week per cardholder.
The £10 spend is also calculated after discounts.
Bosses say the scheme is designed to brighten up the weekly shop at a time when value and rewards matter more than ever.
Morrisons, which recorded a 7.2 per cent rise in earnings to £344million for the first half of its financial year, is hoping the latest perk will draw in shoppers amid fierce competition from rivals.

Morrisons loyalty card shake up
Morrisons has introduced a major change to its Christmas Savers club, that lets you save from January to December.
Previously, customers could receive printed vouchers to use in store for their festive shop.
But for Christmas 2025 this has been changed.
Instead, vouchers collected through the scheme are automatically loaded to your Morrisons More Card for in-store use.
Any shoppers who wish to use their vouchers online can do so by receiving an e-code.
But must select this preference before deadline date of October 30 2025.
You can also change your mind on how you receive the vouchers before this deadline.
To select your preference you need to log-in to your More Card account and go to the Christmas Savers club section where you will see your transaction history.
Then select ‘manage club preferences’ where you will be prompted to select one of the two options.
Supermarket loyalty schemes – which has one?
MOST UK supermarkets have loyalty schemes so customers can build up points and save money while they shop.
Here we round up what saving programmes you’ll find at the big brands.
- Iceland: Unlike other stores, you don’t collect points with the Iceland Bonus Card. Instead, you load it up with money and Iceland will give you £1 for every £20 you save.
- Lidl Plus: Lidl customers don’t collect points when they shop, and are instead rewarded with personalised vouchers that gives them money off at the till.
- Morrisons: The My Morrisons: Make Good Things Happen replaces the More Card and rewards customers with personalised money off vouchers via the app.
- Sainsbury’s: While Sainsbury’s doesn’t have a personal scheme, it does own the Nectar card which can also be used in Argos, eBay and other shops. You need 200 Nectar points to save up £1 to spend on your card. You need to spend at least £1 to get one Nectar point.
- Tesco: Tesco Clubcard has over 17million members in the UK alone. You use it each time you shop and build up points that can be turned into vouchers – 150 points gets you a £1.50 voucher. Here you need to spend £1 in Tesco to get one point.
- Waitrose: myWaitrose also doesn’t allow you to collect points but instead you’ll get access to free hot drinks, and discounts off certain brands in store.
Loyalty scheme changes at other retailers
Earlier this year, Tesco made a major change to its Clubcard scheme , to the delight of pizza lovers.
Customers were able to exchange their points for money off drinks and food at PizzaExpress until the end of April.
Any Clubcard points exchanged for money off at Pizza Express were worth double, so a £1.50 voucher would have saved you £3.
Sainsbury’s also made a huge change to its Nectar loyalty scheme for 18 million customers.
The UK’s second biggest grocery store introduced a new security feature on its loyalty card app to prevent points from being stolen.
The free scheme allows customers to earn one Nectar point for every £1 spent at Sainsbury’s, both in-store and online.
How to cut the cost of your grocery shop
SAVING on your shop can make a big difference to your wallet. Here are some tips from comparison site Money.co.uk about how you can cut the cost of your shopping bills:
- Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
- Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
- Never shop hungry – you are far more likely to buy more food if your tummy is rumbling
- Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
- Use social media – follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
- Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
- Check the small print – It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
- Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards
