Her body was found in a lake at Delamere Lake Holiday Park, Cheshire, two days later following a huge search.

An inquest heard today how Rachel was identified by her sister following the tragic discovery.

Coroner Victoria Davies said: “Given that an unnatural cause of death has been identified on the post-mortem it is appropriate for me to formally open the inquest into the death of Rachel Langley.”

The hearing was adjourned to January 27, when a full inquest will take place.

The alarm was raised after Rachel was reported missing in the early hours of July 19 by her worried family.

She had entered a Shell garage on the A556 in in Northwich, Cheshire, shortly before vanishing.

A member of staff told The Sun that Rachel had bought milk and wine before disappearing.

During the search, police were spotted at the Wild Shore Delamere water sports park in Northwich.

The force closed the local holiday attraction as part of their investigation.

Police also deployed sniffer dogs in a bid to find the missing 38-year-old.

Rachel was discovered in a lake around eight miles from her home in Barnton, Cheshire.

Officers at the time said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Paying tribute, her family said: “Rachel, who was known to us as Helena, was a cherished member of our family.

“She was a guiding light whose strength, love, and devotion touched us all.

“Her kindness was constant and her presence a strength to everyone she knew, a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister who can never be replaced but always present in our hearts.

“Her absence leaves a space, but her smiles are a memory we will treasure forever.”
