My neighbour kept parking in my driveway because it’s closer to her house – so I got revenge on her ‘entitled’ behaviour

A HOMEOWNER was able to get her revenge on an entitled neighbour who repeatedly parked on her driveway – despite having a perfectly usable driveway of their own.

In a recent Reddit post, the homeowner revealed how the neighbour would regularly park on her property to avoid walking a few extra steps to their house.

The homeowner tried to resolve the issue amicably but had to resort to towing the neighbour’s car after she was blocked in[/caption]

Frustrated by the situation, she asked the neighbour to stop, explaining that it often left her with nowhere to park.

However, the neighbour refused, claiming it wasn’t a problem because the driveway was “not being used at the time.”

She wrote: “My neighbour keeps parking in my driveway because ‘it’s closer to her front door.’

“I told her she can’t just use my property whenever she wants, but she argued that I ‘wasn’t using it at the moment.’”

Fed up with the behaviour, the homeowner eventually called a tow company to remove the vehicle.

“She even got upset when I had her car towed once after blocking me in,” she added.

The post received plenty of support on Reddit, with many users encouraging her to take the matter further.

One user said: “Time to issue a formal trespass warning and tell her you’ll involve the police if she does it again.”

Another wrote: “You can tell her that she wasn’t using her car at the moment, so that’s why you had it towed.”

Others shared similar experiences, recommending towing as the best way to deal with such behaviour.

“Keep towing it,” one commenter added.

“People like that will continue to take advantage of you. It’s clear she doesn’t respect you or your property rights, so the only thing left is to hit her wallet.

“I had a neighbour do this to me many years ago. After numerous attempts to resolve it amicably, I towed his car. Never did it again.

“In your case, it sounds like one more tow might make her change her habit.”

Another Reddit user recounted their own story: “I had a neighbour like that, and it always brings me joy to share this win.

“He ran a business in that unit, and not only did he park in my spot, but so did his customers. I warned him many times, but he didn’t listen.

“I eventually filed a complaint with the city about how his business was disrupting a residential unit. Turns out he was behind on paperwork and wasn’t following regulations. He had to pay a hefty fine or close the business and he chose the latter.

“Your neighbour lives there, so towing should be straightforward. If you’re in an apartment complex, you could also ask management to fine her.”
