NINETIES pop star Kavana has revealed he was handed a lifetime ban from TV’s Loose Women after getting drunk in his dressing room and being found in the pub minutes before he was due on air.
The singer who had a Top Ten hit in 1997 with his version of I Can Make You Feel Good, details his struggles with alcoholism in emotional new memoir Pop Scars, and tells the story of his ban from the show after an appearance in 2007 as one of several low points.

And he says he was so badly behaved, he was “escorted off the premises” – before carrying on boozing.
Recalling the incident in his book, he writes: “I can’t remember much of my ‘performance’ on Loose Women apart from the odd flashback, which every time one comes I slug a mouthful of beer at the harrowing thought.
“When someone, especially your new TV and theatre agent, leaves you a voicemail at 10am saying it’s urgent, it’s usually not the best news, is it?”
Recalling the conversation with his agent, Kavana says they told him: “I’m afraid they’re not happy with you.
“They have given you a lifetime ban on Loose Women. You can never go on again.
“Well, firstly, you scarpered. You went missing for 15 minutes. You had a whole studio of workers running around after you, and were found in the pub opposite with minutes to go.
“You asked Carol McGiffin live on air when was the last time she had sex, and you were described as being loud and unhinged backstage, asking for wine and demanding everyone join you in the pub after the show.
“You then had to be escorted off the premises and helped into the car by the driver, who by the way nearly didn’t agree to take you, due to you being so drunk.
“You then insisted he reroute the booking and take you all the way to Soho and drop you there.”
Happy to hear that’s all behind you now, Kav.
