Rock legends set to follow Kylie Minogue and Gary Barlow as they launch their own wine range

CELEBRITY tipples are all the rage, with model Kendall Jenner and her 818 Tequila and singer Ellie Goulding’s Served Cocktails.

And now Queen are getting in on the act.

The rock legends are following in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue and Gary Barlow‘s with their own range of wine.

The group, made up of Brian May and Roger Taylor, have trademarked Queen’s logo with the list of goods showing up as plonk.

A source said: “Queen are joining the wine game. Booze has proved to be a very lucrative market and they’re throwing their hats into the ring.

“It’s all very early days but the plan is to get the trademark approved and then get moving on production.”

I’d be rushing into the tasting before anything else.

Phenomenal plonk

This isn’t Queen’s first foray into the booze business. In 2014 the group launched their Killer Queen vodka in memory of their late frontman Freddie Mercury, who died in November 1991, aged 45.

The 40 per cent ABV spirit was released to coincide with the 40th anniversary of their 1974 hit Killer Queen.

Brian said at the time: “Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour.

“Killer Queen vodka is the perfect tribute to Freddie and using Killer Queen as the brand name was the perfect choice for us. We know Freddie would have approved.”

I look forward to tasting the wine when it finally comes out.

Being honest, though, it’ll have to be a pretty phenomenal plonk to beat Aussie pop star Kylie’s rose.

That wine is superb.

OASIS BOYS ROLL WITH IT IN THE BIG APPLE

LIAM GALLAGHER was joined by a family entourage as the Oasis tour arrived in New York.

My photos show his sons Gene and Lennon jetted out to the Big Apple to cheer on their dad — and brought their glamorous girlfriends along for company.

They live in London but the brothers were spotted on a double date in the West Village area of NYC on the weekend.

Dressed down, Gene, whose mum is Nicole Appleton, wore a camouflage jacket and blue jeans alongside his model girlfriend Nevey Maya.

Meanwhile Lennon, who is the son of former EastEnders star Patsy Kensit, was joined by girlfriend Isobel Richmond.

Oasis played two sold out gigs at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday and Monday and will stay in the States and Mexico for the next fortnight, before bringing the tour back to the UK for two more shows at Wembley Stadium.

COLDPLAY ARE KARAOKE GOLD

Coldplay’s Chris Martin made the crowd giggle with his self-deprecating humour[/caption]

“YOU could be at home on a Sunday watching YouTube and eating Wotsits, so thank you for being here,” tells Chris Martin to a packed-out Wembley Stadium.

That night in would be a very unappealing alternative for the 82,000 fans here who managed to snag tickets to their London residency, which were like gold dust despite them playing a record ten nights.

But from the second they step on stage, it is clear why the demand is there – they are without a doubt the most engaging and enchanting live band I’ve ever seen.

It’s more than the confetti cannons, the fireworks and the dazzling flashing wristbands – although these are spectacular, particularly during hit Charlie Brown.

Livewire Chris bounds up and down a catwalk to the centre of the stadium, hitting every note and making the crowd giggle with his self-deprecating humour.

Songs like Viva La Vida, Yellow and A Sky Full Of Stars are like communal karaoke therapy and their newer tunes shine, too.

They are one of the only bands who are still making hit singles and 2021’s My Universe and last year’s feelslikeimfallinginlove sound just as anthemic and immediate as their earlier classics.

There are still plenty of people who like to look down their noses at Coldplay.

But I feel sorry for you if you can’t see their excellence, because they are an absolute joy from start to finish.

LIAM PAYNE’s cousin Ross Harris has released an emotional song about the tragic One Direction star – just weeks before the first anniversary of his death.

Singer Ross wrote the track, called Bones, to mark what would have been Liam’s 32nd birthday last Friday.

Ross said: “I’ve never released anything this personal before.

“It was more than normal sonwriting, it was therapy for me, and for that, I will be forever grateful.”

Sharing the song online, Ross wrote on Instagram: “Liam, it’s been a whole year since we celebrated your birthday. A whole year since I saw you for the last time. A whole year since I’ve seen my young cousin’s face.

“The truth is, I sort of struggle to look at that face now.”

In the weeks leading up to his death in Argentina last October, Liam had been putting the finishing touches to his second album.

He had compared the record to a diary, with Liam writing songs about his darkest moments. Since his death fans have called for the album to be released but a final decision has yet to be made.

A source said: “Liam was very proud of the music he had made for the album. It’s not a priority for his family right now but this is something they may wish to consider in the future.”

BARRY MANILOW is returning to the UK for his “last arena concerts” – having already performed his “farewell to UK audiences” last year, with a sold-out residency at the London Palladium.

He will perform in Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham and London next June, with tickets going on sale on Friday.

The Copacabana singer said: “I swear, I SWEAR I really meant it when I said goodbye to everyone in the UK on the last night of our fantastic run at the great London Palladium.

“But, as of now I can still run around the stage, I can still hit the high F natural at the end of Even Now and I still look fabulous!

“I don’t wanna say goodbye! So we’re coming back.”

ZOE BACK ON THE BOOZE

Zoe Ball has started drinking again after nearly a decade teetotal
PA

ZOE BALL has revealed that she now drinks alcohol again after almost a decade off the stuff.

The Radio 2 DJ cut out all booze in 2016 and then spent years avoiding it, but yesterday revealed that she now enjoys the odd drink and is partial to a spicy margarita.

On her Dig It podcast with fellow DJ Jo Whiley, Zoe explained: “To be honest with you, I don’t drink a lot.

“I didn’t drink for a huge part of my life and now I can brilliantly have one or two drinks and it never goes further than that – because I just can’t take it.

“I think menopause changed all that, and that’s a good thing, to be honest with you.

“And now as a result, I love a cocktail.”

Chin, chin, Zoe!

YACHT A POSER, ROMEO

FAMILY tributes flooded in as Romeo Beckham celebrated his 23rd birthday.

Mum Victoria posted a recent picture of her model son beaming in just a pair of pink swim shorts on the family yacht.

She wrote: “Happy birthday @romeobeckham! You are our everything, we love you so much. Your love and kindness fills our hearts every day.”

Romeo spent the day home in London after enjoying a mini break with his family, including sister Harper on the Italian coast last week.

Dad David Beckham added: “Happy 23rd Birthday to my little boy. You are kind, humble, polite, hard-working and the most special person to everyone, we love you so much. Have the most special day.”

But after their feud, his brother Brooklyn unsurprisingly snubbed him, and instead shared a snap of his takeaway coffee.

BABYSHAMBLES IN REUNION TRIBUTE TO TRAGIC PATRICK

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty says the band have ‘unfinished business’
Barnaby Fairley

BABYSHAMBLES are reuniting for their first shows in 11 years.

The group, whose debut album Down In Albion turns 20 in two months’ time, will play ten shows across the UK, kicking off in Norwich on November 14.

Frontman Pete Doherty said: “It’s unfinished business and everywhere I go I get, ‘What’s happening with the ‘shambles?’ It’s a no-brainer for me, a real desire to play some of them old tunes and have a little shindig.”

The indie sleaze stars had a string of tunes including Killamangiro, F**k Forever, Albion and Delivery across four albums.

They were inspired to return for the tour, which tickets go on general sale for at 10am on Friday, following the death in June of the band’s guitarist Patrick Walden.

FIFTH HARMONY reunited for the first time in seven years as a surprise act during a Jonas Brothers’ show.

The girl group, who split in 2018, performed hits including Worth It and Work From Home at the show in Texas, US, on Sunday night.

After months of rumours, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke and Normani got back together and dropped a range of merch.

I’m told they have been working on a full reunion, but former member Camila Cabello won’t be rejoining them.

We are missing a big girl group now, I hope they make it a success.

RISING rock band Only The Poets are playing London’s Brixton Academy for £1, so as many people as possible can see them.

The group are supporting the Live Trust with the February 2 gig, which follows the release of debut album And I’d Do It Again on January 30.

New single Sake is out tomorrow, so give it a spin then you can grab your £1 gig ticket on September 12.
