Salisbury races CANCELLED with historic track waterlogged after deluge of rain


SALISBURY races has been cancelled with the venue ‘unfit for racing’ after a deluge of rain.

The Group 3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes was due to be the feature contest tomorrow.

Racing has been cancelled at Salisbury after a massive amount of rain pummelled the track[/caption]

But bosses have been left with no choice but to pull the plug on the action after consistent downpours.

The Wiltshire track suffered a further 17mm of rain overnight in addition to 10mm yesterday and 30mm from last Wednesday.

It is pretty much a year to the day since racing was last abandoned at Salisbury.

On September 5 last year the action was canned just an hour before the first race.
