Altay Bayindir has struggled through their Premier League games, while Andre Onana was woeful in the penalty shoot-out defeat at Grimsby in mid-week.

SunSport exclusively revealed that some United stars even want veteran third-choice stopper Tom Heaton, 39, to be given ago over Bayindir and Onana.

Meanwhile, United youngster Vitek has enjoyed a quietly impressive start to the season at Ashton Gate.

Having previously had loans at Accrington Stanley and in Austria, the 21-year-old signed up to spend the 2025-26 season at Bristol City.

The Robins have had a strong start to the season and are unbeaten in their first four league games under new boss Gerhard Struber.

During yesterday’s 4-2 win over Hull City, Vitek caught the eye with a sensational one-handed save at full stretch to deny Tigers striker Oli McBurnie.

When Bristol City posted a clip of the incredible stop, one United fan wrote: “How about you take Onana and we have Vitek back?”

While a second demanded: “Call him back immediately.”
