TESCO has brought back a festive Mr Kipling treat to stores in August – and shoppers are going wild for it.
Customers have spotted six-packs of the brand’s Festive Bakewells on the supermarket’s shelves.

The cakes, which feature almond flavour sponge, a layer of plum and raspberry jam and are topped with icing and sprinkles, can also be found on the Tesco website.
One festive shopper who managed to snap up the treats posted a picture of them to the “Snack Reviews” Facebook page, writing: “Closer look at Mr Kipling Festive Bakewells, which are back available at Tesco.”
There were plenty of fans in the comments who were delighted to see the Christmas-themed goodies were back in store.
One wrote: “Love these always get them”, while another said they were their favourite cake.
Another shopper pointed out that the festive bakes are almost the same as Mr Kipling’s popular cherry bakewells, but “without the cherry” and with colourful sprinkles.
One less impressed Facebook user wrote: “These would probably taste like every other Mr Kipling cake, just overly sweet and sickly.”
For anyone looking to get into the Christmas spirit early, six-packs of festive bakewells are on sale in Tesco stores and online for £2.50.
And Tesco isn’t the only supermarket that has brought out some of its Christmas stock before summer is even over.
Morrisons has already started selling mince pies in August.
A shopper in their local Sheffield store spotted packs of the treats on shelves last week.
The photo, on Instagram account @newfoodspotteruk, shows a pack of six shortcrust mince pies, priced at £1.50 and set to expire on August 29 – almost four months before Christmas.
Mince pies are also available on the Morrisons website at a similar price. As well as shortcrust, deep filled (£2) and puff pastry (£1) mince pies are also now on sale.
Some shoppers were outraged by how early the pies had hit shelves, with one commenting: “Get stuffed it’s still summer”.
Meanwhile, B&M shoppers were flabbergasted recently to find Christmas selection boxes in stores.
They included classics such as Cadbury, Nestle, Galaxy and Reese’s.
A picture of the seasonal goodies was shared in the Dansway Gifts and Bargains UK Facebook Group, with the shopper saying that there’s lots of other Christmas chocolate to choose from already in the store.
Some fans of the budget retailer argued it’s too soon, while others admitted they’d still “scoff them”.
Shoppers have also spotted tubs of Cadbury Roses, Heroes and Quality Street already stacked on shelves in major supermarkets.
Tesco and Morrisons have both begun rolling out the chocolate boxes early.
They’re on sale for £7 each – or £6 for Morrisons More members and £5.95 with a Tesco Clubcard.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
