The prize is worth £10,000 in Tesco vouchers or an impressive £20,000 when redeemed with Tesco Reward Partners, which offer discounts on everything from restaurant meals to holidays.

The competition is open to OVO Beyond customers.

OVO Beyond is a free rewards programme for OVO Energy customers that offers perks like savings on energy-efficient products, free EV miles, solar panels, and exclusive discounts.

Signing up is simple – customers just need to pay by Direct Debit, have a smart meter, and opt into the programme through the OVO app.

To enter the Clubcard competition, OVO Beyond members can log in to the OVO app, submit their details, answer a few questions, and link their Tesco account.

Winners will be announced by October 4, so there’s not much time to get involved.

For those who miss out on the grand prize, OVO is also giving away 100 Clubcard points to over 100,000 customers every month between November and January.

Customers have until September 30 to sign up and take part.

Shama Wilson, Tesco Group membership and loyalty director said: “We are always looking to give our Clubcard members more, so we are delighted to be teaming up with OVO for this competition.

“Just imagine how you can reward yourself with a million Clubcard points – you could fill your cupboards all year with finest food from Tesco or treat yourself and your family to memorable experiences with our Clubcard Partners.”

Tesco’s Clubcard scheme

Tesco’s Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop, these points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food or other reward partner schemes.

When you spend £1 in-store or online, you get one point when you scan your card or app.

Drivers using Clubcards now get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.

One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you £1.50, for example.

You’ll need a minimum of 150 points to request a voucher.

These vouchers can either be worth the face value to spend in-store at Tesco, or you can double their worth to spend at reward partners, including restaurants, and on days out.

Loyalty card holders can also get cheaper prices on over 8,000 items thanks to Clubcard Prices.

These Clubcard prices save the average member £360 on their annual shop, according to Tesco.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

Reclaim lost Clubcard points

Many people lose or forget to use their Tesco vouchers, but there’s an easy way to claw back the last two years of unused vouchers.

Here’s exactly how to find out if you have any unused vouchers.

The first step is to log into your Tesco Clubcard account on Tesco.com or via the Clubcard app.

You’ll need your name, email address and Clubcard number to hand.

Once you’ve logged in, navigate to “My Clubcard Account” and then click on “Vouchers” to see a full list of any vouchers you still have to spend.

You can use the code included in your voucher to spend online.

If you want to redeem them in-store, you’ll need to print them off and take them with you.
