A contestant named Dale faced this tricky Muppets question – for £39,000[/caption]
He had TV judge Bruno Tonioli offering assistance[/caption]
In one instalment, operations manager Dale found himself playing for a whopping £39,000.
His question was: “Which of these Muppets is a bear and a terrible stand up comic?”
Meanwhile, the possible answers were Sam, Fozzie, Animal and Rizzo.
Strictly and BGT star Bruno Tonioli assisted Dale, although neither seemed initially certain of the answer.
Saying the options out loud, Bruno declared “Fozzie Bear” sounded right.
Dale was left unconvinced and instead locked in “Animal” as his answer.
This however proved to be incorrect and the right answer was actually Fozzie.
Speaking afterwards, Michael said: “I’m so sorry, but unfortunately that late swerve has cost you victory tonight.
“You’re off The Wheel! It’s goodbye to Dale.”
The episode ended with rival contestant Grace bagging £19,500, with Clare Balding‘s help.
The third player, Sally, lost out on winning £78,000 after facing a tricky sea creature question.
On this occasion, Sally was being helped out by married couple, Chris and Rosie Ramsey.
But with the pressure cranked up and the questions getting tougher, even this star-studded line-up couldn’t stop the huge prize pot from slipping away.
The question read: “Which one of these sea creatures swims the fastest? – Great Barracuda, Sailfish, Great White Shark or Orca.”
Contestant Sally admitted: “I guess in my head I’m going orca.
“Is it a barracuda? Is that a big fish? A barracuda?
“It’s like… I mean, it’s a big fish.
“Sailfish are then the ones with the sort of fin down the back.
“Great white sharks are pretty fast. Great white sharks are pretty fast.”
In the end she picked “Barracuda”, sadly the answer was “Sailfish”.
The Wheel is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

The right answer was actually Fozzie Bear[/caption]
