The shoot took place on Wednesday close to the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, North London.

The Tottenham Estate gained notoriety in 1985 after the Farm Riot there, which became one of the most violent in 20th-century Britain and culminated in the tragic death of PC Keith Blakelock, who was killed by a mob.

Travis, 34, who headlined Reading and Leeds last weekend, was filming the new video with South African singer Tyla, 23.

She was on set filming a scene when the man walked onto the set and caused a commotion.

An onlooker told The Sun that when confronted, the man is alleged to have pulled out a blade.

They said: “Travis and Tyla’s music video was being filmed on a quiet street but with all the crew and security, it attracted a lot of attention.

“Tyla was filming some scenes about 40 yards away when this man kept walking onto the set.

“A member of the crew approached him and asked him to leave and that is when he started being threatening and pulled out what looked like a knife.

“It was terrifying for everyone. Travis was already shut away and Tyla was taken off set. It all went into lockdown and the police were called.”

On Thursday the Metropolitan Police confirmed they were investigating.

In a statement a spokesperson said: “A man flagged down officers in Willan Road, N17, on Wednesday, 27 August to report that a man had threatened to stab him.

“Officers searched the area and stopped a man, aged 29, matching the suspect’s description.

“The man resisted the search and so he was placed in handcuffs. Officers recovered class B drugs and cash. No knife was found.

“He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug and section 4A of the public order act.

“He was taken to a north London police station where he remains in custody.

“Enquiries continue.”

Travis, who counts Kylie Jenner as his ex-girlfriend, has been in the UK since the weekend when he performed at Reading and Leeds.

Insiders said the shoot, which was for an upcoming song featuring Tyla, had been in the diary for months.

They confirmed Travis and Tyla were unharmed and said the video shoot continued once the man had been apprehended.

A source said: “This shook everyone up but kudos to the crew and the security for staying calm.

“As soon as this man made the threat everything locked down until the incident was over.

“Travis and Tyla wrapped up their scenes like true professionals.”

American star Travis has clocked up five Top Ten songs in the UK, with his 2023 album Utopia going straight to the top of the charts.

His last record, Days Before Rodeo, came out last year.

Travis is currently on his Utopia – Circus Maximus Tour and last month performed shows in London’s Tottenham Stadium and in Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena.
