Billy and Ashleigh revealed they’d also gone their separate ways[/caption]
Straight off the bat in the reunion special, viewers were given a glimpse into Kal and Sarover’s life which seemed full of love as they celebrated Christmas together and had a fun honeymoon in Morocco.
But when hosts Matt and Emma Willis asked them for an update on their married life, Sarover, quickly snapped back “what married life?” and admitted she “never saw the end coming.”
Things got heated between the pair as they tried to explain the breakdown in their relationship, with Sarover’s mum also weighing in on the drama.
Kal tried to explain that he and Sarover were very different people, including that she’s more emotional and affectionate, whereas he’s not into “kisses and cuddles.”
But those reasons didn’t make sense to Sarover, because from her standpoint nothing had changed in their relationship and he had known from the outset that she was affectionate.
Sarover said she was completely blindsided by Kal’s decision to leave and didn’t accept his reasoning for it.
“I just don’t think I’m compatible in a long-term relationship, and it took me to meet on paper the perfect woman to realize that,” Kal said over and over.
While Sarover said he should have never have married her in the “legal commitment” if he knew he did not want anything long-term.
Her mum stood up for Sarover and told Kal in no uncertain terms that her daughter “was doing ok, and is moving forwards” from their relationship.
The next couple to open up on the dissolution of their marriage was Billy and Ashleigh.
While Billy had been apprehensive about marrying Ashleigh, a fact she was aware of at the time, he explained to Emma that he went through with their wedding anyway because he was a “hopeless romantic.”
“I went there to find love, and if I’m split down the middle, I’m going to take a chance on love every single time,” he said.
But Ashleigh was not happy with him, saying he didn’t fight for their relationship, giving up on their love after just three months.
Billy tried to explain that leaving the Love Is Blind pods to transition back into real live was a “struggle,” and he felt“disconnected” from Ashleigh.
She said that even though their wedding day was the best day of her life, wished it had gone differently.
“He should have said ‘no,’ ” Ashleigh said about their decision to get married.
