Two women ‘sexually assaulted just 15 minutes apart in city centre’ – as cops charge man with string of offences

TWO women were allegedly sexually assaulted within 15 minutes of each other in a busy city centre.

Cops rushed to the scene on Barrack Road in Newcastle at around 2am on August 23.

A second woman had also reportedly been sexually assaulted around 15 minutes earlier in the same area.

Today, David Robson, 29, was charged with sexual assault and attempt to kidnap or falsely imprison a person with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence in relation to the first report.

He has been further charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and sexual assault in relation to the second report.

He has been remanded in police custody and will appear before magistrates this morning.

Both women continue to be supported by specially-trained officers.
